John Shannon says the JB & #Canucks are having pro meetings in Pitt and they're discussing if they'll trade guys like Burr/Hansen

They better move them. If we lose Granlund or Bae because we want to hold onto Hansen I'll be

That's how I feel. I can understand the org wanting to sell hope for the playoffs. a fickle fan base in Vancouver.

In any approach to mending/rebuilding the team is going to have some major disappointments. losing streaks. reality checks.

Whatever the approach, losing sucks and doing so when you aren't in the game is worse.

I want to support the direction of the club but want to be entertained regardless of the outcome.

(I came on here to get the tone of the game last night, I pvr'd but haven't had a chance to watch. guess I will hit the delete and save the disappointment.)

I think their approach is 99% of the problem. They tried to re-tool the club around the Sedins since they got there and stay competitive, they've failed miserably in that regard. But they keep tryin to sell the same poop to the fan base.

That's the funny thing about this...I think by and large that everyone is happy with the youth turnover we've had...and without question man for man the team has given all it has every game. The frustration lies in the over reliance of the old boys club, the lack of commitment from ownership to suffer along with the fanbase and rebuild this ship from the ground up.i have no problem watching the boys give their all and lose. I enjoy watching the young guys put in the pressure situations and get burned a few times . It's great to see them make the adjustment and become better pros. From ownership on down to the fans we need to commit to the youth movement . No more retool on the fly and push for playoffs. That can't be the goal right now going forward

I'm guessing the direction comes from ownership. different coach or gm will have the same direction from ownership.

just give the fans something to cheer for. as been mentioned more than a few times, i can't imagine the team without Horvat. can't imagine the pressure he is under. keeps getting better.

when the Sedins are gone, we will have different poop. and Edler

With Horvat and Sutter on the shelf, are the Canucks now on the same path as last season?

I'm not sure how much they plan to push for the playoffs beyond a deal that moves a dman and brings in an offensive forward (as JB has said a few times, wanting to bring in a winger). and I'd hope they'd still move Miller, Burrows and Hansen.

the youth movement is happening. bring in more youth with every season.

I am not as concerned .

When Tavares becomes a free agent very few teams will have the kind of cap space to throw a lot of money at an offer for him .

Canucks will have a set of brothers that retire that same year and leave a lot of cap space . Something to think about . We will be one of the few teams that can make a 10 mil plus offer.

I am not saying go all in but it is an option.

Mostly because they have built around the Sedins for the last decade and wedged them into a position where they control all the chips and are now old and collecting a paycheck

I hope Benning can use the perception that this is a weak draft to sneak a few good prospects out from under every other GM's nose. Needs more picks though, at least a couple.

I prefer prospects who r further along on development vs more picks in a weak draft year. I don't see how mid to late 2nds r all that inspiring.

This is true so we change gears soon is my prediction.
Either that or heads will roll.

what makes you think tavares "is an option"?

although admittedly he'd be a great second line centre to Horvat or mcdavid.
