Reid Boucher is the Canucks active leader in shots on goal per TOI (I know this seems skewed based on 4th line minutes vs rest BUT) The guy is taking shots at an incredible rate, even given his 7-9 minutes per night. He is averaging more shots per night than most of the Canucks who average between 17-22 minutes (amongst forwards). I am not going to start the parade of having Reid Boucher move up the line up, but we need to start taking some positives from that 4th line, and the pickup by Benning.

Just saw the lowlights, a lot of work to do.
- LeftCoaster

Much work.

Another 4 goal game Miller and there will still be talk of resigning this guy.

Sedins and Edler literally standing flat on the second goal...Sedins look to be done in the defensive zone.

Skilless had what..10 shots? Nothing...

Just goes to show how much Horvat and Sutter will mean to this club going forward.

Men vs the boys last night.

Miller is the only reason it wasn't 8-0. Our 4th line had more quality scoring chances then all other 3 lines combined. I thought Miller played out of his mind.

I don't think I have ever witnessed the Sedins being hemmed into their own zone for over 2 minutes at a time like they did last night. It was a reverse Sedin Possession shift and it really showed how much they have aged. Not taking away from the fact that they are incredible players, but man was that tough to watch.

As Botch said this morning in the Provies, after three years this management group hasn't gotten them any further down the road with all Bennings trades. They're just as poopty as they were three years ago.

However, they do have a handful of prospects now which they didn't under Gillis.

Hopefully they're sellers at the TDL, even if it's for 2nds & 3rds, time for ownership and management t get the (frank) off this "we wanna ice a competitive team" BS.

Not Millers fault
Not WD's fault
Not the players fault

It's just going to get worse before it gets better. Rebuilds take time. Especially when u can't win a lottery. Where would those teams that have won the lottery be if not for drawing #1?

Of course it's not the be all end of all. But it's a good start. (generational players).

Our last 2 #1 picks haven't played yet. JB is going to have to move a dman for a top 6 F before next year. Likely after the expansion draft. Add BB and OJ possibly to the lineup next year and things will start to look more promising. They won't be riding in on their white horses, but they will give new hope.

and who knows, maybe we can win a lottery for once? (now that there is no generational player )

ps I would love some buttermilk fried chicken. nom nom nom nom

In conclusion, I'm never going to get mad at this team. they are what they are. We're just going to have to wait it out. mmmmmmm buttermilk.

They (Benning, Linden & Desjardin ) should STFU. They should also boycott/shun the local press with the exception of Carol.

It is Botch's and Pratt's job to get the lynch mob angry.

Only a fool can't see the improvements. Benning inherited a team full of NTC and NMC.

The Sedins will be gone after next year and will no longer be eating up 14 mil in cap space. As I say over and over they are old now and give up most of the scoring chances. Fans wonder what life after the Sedins will be like ? You are looking at it now . The only difference is we will have 14 mil to find younger players to fill in.

It is horsesh1t to sit and complain about how bad we are and how good teams like Calgary Wpg Tor Avs are when we are seperated by 4 points.

We will get a good pick this year and next year and probably for a decade after if we don't trade draft picks.

We have three good young Dmen playing now who will get better and a few forward prospects that are getting close.

People just love to complain

I agree, it's his job to sell newspapers, not a fan of his but he does call it like it is sometimes regarding Benning & Linden. Which I find humorous.

As I said two days ago, winning isn't important right now, building is. Hopefully they stay true to their word and start building thru the draft a bit more. Because like Botchford said, none of Bennings trades have improved the club, they're still a bottom team with the guys he's traded for.
