Tyler Benson: What would rate this prospect.

Benson at one point was almost given exceptional status because he destroyed all the records in AMBHA and had like 230 points in 60 games or something ridiculous. Injuries played a factor since then and his draft stock tanked. Assuming he wasn't just a man-child at that level (like Ty Rattie) and can stay healthy he could be a major steal where we got him. We will see once he can attend a camp or two.

There was a knee injury when he was younger and he had a cyst removed from his tailbone and I think there was a shoulder injury also. It affected his production but his boxcars have basically been doing nothing but get better. 42 in 33 isn't incredibly impressive at the WHL level but the rate at which his production has been going up is encouraging. Like I said, he's a wait and see...like any other prospect.

I think that this would be a good year to try and get a run because a lot of teams are having their big name players ghost on them. Like Kopitar, Perry, and even Pavelski are all having down years so this may be a good chance to try and take the Pacific and make at least a West Final run.
