Why for (frank)s sakes would they play the backup vs you over us....?!!
That's Tippett for you. - Flamin_Irishmin
Good question. |

Who did Pakarinen just crank at the end if the game? |

Uncalled for... its Valentines bro!
You could have lost one for us...
Maroon still sounds like a moron in the post interview... Who cares if he can shoot! |

Damn, that Lucic-Draisaitl-Slepyshev line had a great night! If they can keep up even close to that, I like the looks of that as a 2nd line behind Maroon-McDavid-Puljujarvi |

Future is bright. Wasn't it Frenchy who predicted that Slepy would be a 15 goal/40 point winger? |

Probably. He was a big supporter of the guy and spoke very highly of his work ethic. I can see why since the early part of the season! |

If.... and a big If.... this team makes the playoffs they better change that (frank)ing goal song. It's worst in league I tell ya - nanook82
Very likely it will be Oilers vs Ducks first round. 2nd seed vs 3rd seed in division. |

Year over year, Klefbom has increased his shots/game total- which, as seen in the link below, holds a strong correlation to being an elite offensive Dman- by almost an entire point. From 48 shots in 30 games (1.6/game) to 144 in 57 games (2.53/game), he's now in 10th place in the league for shots/game by Dmen surrounded by all manner of elite offensive defensemen. He's ahead of guys like Weber, Karlsson, Parayko, Yandle, Barrie and Trouba and behind guys like Subban, Josi, Faulk, Byfuglien, Letang, Krug and Burns.

Just looking at the top 30-40 on that page and I'm hard-pressed to think of any as players we shouldn't be incredibly pleased with Klefbom being in competition with. |

Where does Eberle fit in? - Oildrum
He... doesn't? I dunno. While they're good to keep around for this year and maybe next, I lean towards finding trades that send both him and maybe Nuge out of town for their replacements. We need guys who will give consistent effort and offer a greater variety of skills than Eberle does and I feel like Nuge just costs too much to manage to keep.
Being honest, if there were deals out there that brought back two of Couterier (3C), Jarnkrok (3C/W), Palat (2W), Tatar (2W) and Gallagher (2W) for the two of them, I'd do it yesterday. However, this is all easier said than done. |

Im tending to lean that way too. Im all for sending them away for acceptable replacements. Cut all ties from the decade of darkness.
Nuge is not living up to his 1st overall status and Eberle is looking less productive every year.

Agreed. I just don't see them as necessary to winning. To my eye, Eberle is a dangling Ryder and Nuge is of the mold of either a weaker Plekanec or a more well-rounded version of Ribeiro. Both could be effective on a competitive team, but neither are fundamental pieces worth spending 16% of the total cap space of a Cup competitor. |

Vermette with the abuse of the official call tonight. This bodes well for us in an Edmonton vs. Anaheim first round playoff matchup. The refs are gonna be hating on the ducks. |

The dynamics of that line really makes sense to me, so it's really not that much of a surprise at all. If the Oilers are reading this (which they most certainly are) inbox me and I can construct 4 flawless lines.
