He was carrying a spare tire in camp, it's not a secret that players who come in out of shape have bad years, now he came in fit and he's having a good year, I need a graph on this - KreiderBomb

The real question is, what will it actually take for us to get Shattenkirk at a price we are okay with paying?
This could be our year if we inject that kind of defenseman into the lineup.
Gorton has to be thinking about Hank when looking for someone like Shatty.
HANK ONLY HAS SO MANY YEARS LEFT, this could be the best offensive NYR that he ever sees again. |

I can't imagine that they are sellers. They aren't falling out of the playoffs, so I have no idea why they'd move Shattenkirk. |

They don't want to lose Shatty in the offseason for NOTHING.
They lost Backes to Boston for NOTHING and Brouwer to the Flames for NOTHING.
and have still yet to actually fill the void of TJ Oshie.
To lose Shatty for nothing in the offseason, as opposed to getting something for him now has to be something they are much more willing to do. I am sure they would rather trade him now. |

We lost Yandle for nothing and that hurt, they lost Backes and Brouwer for nothing, if they don't get something for Shattenkirk now they will get nothing for him. |

Think it will depend on if management sees them as a cup contender. Like the Rangers last year, I would have rather traded Yandle for something at the deadline and not picked up Marvin the martian, but I guess the thinking of most teams is, if you get to the playoffs you never know. Might as well go for it. |

Just food for thought, never know what they are thinking. Maybe they lose out the rest of the month and we get him cheaper. |

well next to nothing.. . Rnagers got a 6th in 2016 and a 4th in 2017 from FLA for Yandle's rights |

With the fourth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers selected Tarmo Reunanen from Finland. Reunanen can best be described as an offensive minded defenseman who can also handle himself well in his own zone.
Reunanen turns 19 this March, and he likely wont play a part until a few more years. Reunanen is currently playing in Finland, where he has six points through 29 games, with a plus/minus at +11.
Hey you never know.... Rangers have done a god job with picks in the late rounds, look in the net for an example |

there were like 100 players who left their teams as free agents last summer, Rangers are the only team that got any compensation |

Fair enough, but if we got rid of Yandle at the deadline, we could have got something that would have helped us this year. Maybe we would have another good defenseman in the lineup as opposed to worrying about Staal, G and Klein every game. Thats all I am saying. |

I definitely think they should, and I love the thought of adding Shatty, I just have my doubts the Blues will deal him, we shall see though |

Honest opinion, what would you offer the Blues as fair trade value, if you were to make this trade right now. |

I don't disagree either, but I do remember the offers coming in for him (definitely in terms of picks) in return were really crappy and surprisingly low. I think they just said F it, lets just go for it then. |

I hope we don't go after Shattenkirk. Trade for a guy to play with McD. If we can get Shattenkirk in the offseason great, but the price they're going to want won't be worth it. If we can get someone to play with McD and sign Shattenkirk in the offseason we could be set. Puck mover on every pair with a solid defensive dman opposite them.
McD X
Staal Shattenkirk

I'd offer the Rangers first rounder, Ryan Gropp and Kevin Klein
