Echoing my post from the first page thanking Carol on pointing out how this team has respect for leadership. No matter how bad we are
- Nuck4U

JB singled out our age gap & went about fixing it.
He said drafting & trading were also very important.
Nothing has changed & if we jettison all vets its Buffalo we will be.
Look at a team like the Jets who struggle yearly with all the talent they have.
Building a winner is about all the intangibles not fancy stats.
Teams with character & leadership r the teams who compete annually.

JV is learning how to be a pro now.
McCann moved for a character leader in EG.
Sutter for his all around game.
The writing is on the wall in what JB is doing & thinks we need.

Only reason for trades is to fill needs.
A Tanev only for a proven F.
Burrows cuz in demand & a UFA we could resign.
Hansen would be a big loss if not in a smart trade.

Hansen and Burrows would be a loss for the team and the room, but it's still necessary move to make.
The idea is for the kids to learn how to be a pro and become leaders themselves.
I think the team will be in good hands with Sedins, Bo, Sutter, Dorsett, Tanev, EG, Stetcher, etc.

It's almost like management is aware that selling off all assets and tanking is an option, but have decided not to go down that route, because it is not a guarantee for future success and would rather build a team the slow and traditional way.

Trading those vets will help Nucks be better Vegas proof. Plus add draft picks for talent, speed and rebuild.

I'm really sick of every award show style event. There's a million of them and they're all so self congratulating. Let's celebrate our arrogance brought on from being the center of attention by making ourselves the center of attention some more!

I see that rubbing off on Bo and add in Guddy as part of the new leadership emerging. Perhaps BB can also be included to soak that up next season for future too. He's shown tremendous character and maturity for a young guy. I like that threesome taking over when Sedins are gone.

In fact I could see if Burr was traded now that Bo gets his A. If Guddy had played full season well enough he would have taken Danny's A prior to retirement. When Hank retires as captain there won't be any of the present vets around. Like you said younger vets take over having learned how to lead. This new layer of youth guides the younger guys and draft picks.

It's looking good for 2018-2019 season to be competitive in a good way that takes talent and combines it with character and leadership. With you on just having talent doesn't make a good team.

In Hockey Buzz there is a sense of urgency . In the real world it is a lot different atmosphere.

In here we can't wait to trade Miller to Dallas for a second . In the real world Dallas are looking to move player to get rid of some expiring contracts and pick up draft picks themselves, while Linden and Benning think about extending Miller.

In here we sell off Hansen Burrows Hutton Sutter while in the real world Lebrun says he doesn't think JB hs even talked to Burrows .

Hansen could be asked to waive seeing the expansion draft we could lose him for nothing.

In here we panic about life after the Sedins . News Flash the Sedins or the players you remembered haven't been here all year. Those two imposters are not the real Sedins .

In HB we think the youth talent on this team is terrible . In the real world the Canucks like their youth movement.

We figured we were a fringe team and we are proving that we are.

I think the Canucks will be very happy with their draft picks and their prospects and maybe even get an extra second round pick this year from CBJ .

I like the idea of trading 2 or more of the following: Burrows, Hansen, Sedins, Tanev, Edler for picks/ prospects/ etc...

Dear god, no!!! Almost as bad as the orca. I want to rember as little of the 80's as possible with the obvious exception of the 82 cup run.
- Marwood

lol…it wasn't that bad and the colours were great. What you don't want to remember from the 80's were those god-awful 'V' multicoloured atrocities….wow those may be worse than the Orca...

Do teams ever revert back to old jerseys, besides occasional throw back/retro night?

I too hate the messier era orca. Love the skate, rink/stick and johnny hockey.

Excellent post. Reality vs perception is always a debate. Plus the fact that we have 4 different visions from Ownership/President-GM-Coach and right on down to the Country Club.

I think if this was a normal year there would be little movement.

I see Miller being extended and maybe Markstrom traded or they might go with the same goalie security for the next two years.

I would honestly trade Sven over Hansen. I still think Hansen has five more good years.

I don't really know what Dman will be traded but I don't think it will be Edler Stecher Tryamkin or Hutton.

If we get CBJ second round pick this year I will be thrilled . That would mean four picks in the first 75 picks.

What r these 4 different visions? Have me baffled tbh
As for country club its only a buzzword that does not apply.

It's been mentioned on more than one occasion (especially by Friedman) that Ownership wants one thing…the GM wants another…the President has a different vision and the Coach may not see it all that clearly. Plus the players all on top of that.

Hated both the V & the skate and did not like the colours at all. The only thing west coast about those colours is what the city looks like after a Stanley Cup Final loss.

I think at one point there was different points of running the ship, but I think they are in unison now.

I look at the majority of the last 30 games . Most nights we have been right there. We have had some stinkers but we are competitive. We are not a good team but I think we are heading in the right direction.

I could see Johnny Canuck as a shoulder patch & alternative logo/jersey and mascot and they can sell Fin to Japan for sushi.
