Understood but wasn't the point of the question really. What, in your estimate (stats, intangibles) constitutes a 6.5M center?

It's more than just that. It's the fact we have 2 guys that are better making much less $. Who are u going to trade when Buch Vesey Miller Zib Hayes McD Skeji (also need to sign a RHD) all need raises all whole your paying a guy 6.5 with a NTC. Trade Hayes (who IMO is better) Trade Zib (who IMO is better) Miller??? Buch??? Etc.

freeze yourself like Cartman did waiting for the Wii to come out

we'll thaw you out in late June when this stuff becomes important

apparently this Jan/Feb 2017 ten game stretch of only 4 assists has ruined his career
- jimbro83

The team is 8-2 while scoring 31 goals through those 10 games. I would wager that there isn't a single person in the dressing room that gives a rat's ass about Step only having 4A's through that stretch.

Question still stands, what makes up a 6.5M center?

Neither Hayes nor Zib have shown a level of consistency in their young careers to even come close to that money. Are they better, in flashes you could argue it but neither have been the model of consistency in their careers.

Id rank our centers Stepan - Zib - Hayes in terms of best to worst

Sorry lesser Matt but if it's a question of Stepan vs Hayes, see ya Hayes.

It is what it is...he needed to change and good on him for doing it. What will next year bring? will he keep the wait off or will TPC start feeding him Ellios in hopes that the money is shifted to his man crush.

I know, Hayes needs another year or two of consistency, but damn I'm loving his play this year.

I hope that ham gives you worms lesser Tom.. honestly though if I had to chose, I would take Hayes. Younger. cheaper, higher upside. Pretty much is a staple on the PK now. In saying that I do think Step is one of the most rounded players we have, and I would hate to see him go.
