I would still like to see what Kreider Zibanejad Buchnevich would look like back together. Before Kreider and Bush got hurt that line looked great together. The line juggling might be to try and get our "no way can we trade him ever, 1st line center making 6.5 million a year with a NTC kicking in and his 0 goals 4 assists in his last 10 games going".

That was a great moment. But unfortunately we're in a position now where were paying a guy 6.5 million with a NTC that's about to kick in that is a 50-55 point player with 2 centers, who in my opinion are better and MUCH cheaper. I believe he gets traded in the offseason but we will see. If this was any other Ranger with 0 goals and 4 assists the last 10 people would be having heartattacks on here. Especially if they were making 6.5 million.

Honest question...would you trade Stepan for Toews straight up?

they have won 5 in a row, nobody would be having heart attacks about any player during a 5 game winning streak

they are 3rd overall in the league in scoring, the offense is fine, talk to me when Stepan doesn't produce in the playoffs

I think what u misunderstand is I love Step. Drafted by us, American kid etc plays hard all the time. But unfortunately I think we're in a spot where he's just not a 6.5 million dollar player and that NTC is going to kick in when ALOT of our young guys will be due for raises. Buch, Vesey, Skeji, Miller Hayes Zib McD. I believe Kreider will be due for a raise as well while that NTC is still in affect but I'll have to check.

Is there another center who plays on both the PK and PP, along with being the teams #1 center who wears a letter that's making less than 6.5 mm?

No. Not what we need. I've said numerous times, try and get a RHD and young 3c for Stepan that has upside potential.

He's absolutely terrible on the PP and most on here have been calling for him to get taken off the PP.

Ur wrong, nothing to hate about the guy. It's business. And when looking at who makes sense to trade, it's him IMO

apparently this Jan/Feb 2017 ten game stretch of only 4 assists has ruined his career

I've been saying to trade him in the offsets on well before his last 10 games.

I'm not complaining about it, I'm pointing out he's not the be all end all to the Rangers success.

I brought it up while we were talking about the expansion draft and it's just lingered, then every once in a while I toss in those facts to get u going. Like the 46% face off 57 career high pts and 4 assists 0 goals in his last 10.

Stepan gets all that PP time and Hayes and Zib are still on pace to outscore him over an 82 game season.

Understood but wasn't the point of the question really. What, in your estimate (stats, intangibles) constitutes a 6.5M center?

Didn't say that. I hope we win the cup, Stepan has 15 goals in the postseason and a few game winners (maybe not that good bc then it would be hard to trade him even for me) but then you have to do business. And business says if u have 2 guys that are better(IMO), making much less money, and u can fill a hole trading a guy not to lose other guys, you do it. Again, this got brought up while talking about the draft and I bring it up bc it gets u all ruffled. But I only state facts.
