Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano is probably going to jail, along with his wife. Kate Murray is no longer the Town of Hempstead Supervisor and that disgusting pig-human was one of the biggest opponents of everything.

I can't imagine Bettman is going to be that fervently spiteful against a soon-to-be-departing Mangano that he would make the bulk of the Islanders' fanbase suffer over it. Anything in Belmont/Willets Points (especially Willets Point) is going to take probably a minimum of 5 years to be ready. Between environmental impact studies, zoning, blah, blah, blah, and then the actual construction...it's going to be a long haul.

As far as aiming high, it's just reality. The Islanders are a small-market team. There are far more NYR fans in the area and there always will be. Any Islander fan that says different is just lying to themselves. I'd rather see them at a 15k seat Coliseum then a 17k seat Belmont arena.
