Looks like I'll be making my first trip into Brooklyn for a game Thursday.

We still haven't won a game in there since they moved out of the MOZ.

If you put a gluten-free, sustainably-sourced, and GMO-free taco in your open hand and stand very, very still...you might get the hipsters to come over and feed right out of your hand. A drop of small-batch bourbon on the taco might also help attract them.

Seriously, how do you feel about seeing a game there?

Been there once and holy hell is it pathetic. Stadium is maybe 20% full at most despite whatever BS attendance numbers they announce. Me and like 4 other people made up an entire section during an Islanders Lightning came where tickets were $3 on StubHub.

Totally fine, I've been to several.

It's odd and not the best venue for a hockey game you'll ever be in, no argument about that. But it's not nearly as terrible as most people would like you to think. If you don't buy a restricted view ticket, you'll likely have a perfectly fine view of the ice.

You might also be upset if the scoreboard being about 10ft off-center really, truly bothers you.

Last game I went to was an Isles/Lightning game. There was only like 5 people total in my section and this one disgusting fat (frank) smuggled in some halal and was picking it out of the fat rolls in his shirt and eating it. I think I paid like $3 for my ticket from Stubhub.

Id definitely go back for a rangers islanders game. It's a good value when you can get seats 16 rows behind the glass for like 115.

Its not bad, and it is SOO cheap it is worth it. Outside of a Rangers game you can guy a ticket on Stubhub for $10 or less. What other major sport can you say that about?
So If you want to catch a visiting team or player, its a great alternative then Garden pricing.

10ft??? try 20 lol It's almost over the blueline

I'd be you dollars to donuts that your seats are totally fine. It's far from ideal but some people act like you have to get a rough colonoscopy when you walk in the door.

10, 20...whatever. Some Islander fans act like the off-center scoreboard requires them to sacrifice their first born child.

It does look pretty bush league and it's just not something that should be acceptable for a professional sports team playing in an arena worth billions. That's the type of poop you see in the KHL and say "only in Russia..."

Yeah I'm not defending it, but if you're (not you literally) the kind of guy that can't handle the lack of a centered-scoreboard then I suspect that you don't really care all that much about hockey. As long as I can see the game being played I don't give a poop if the scoreboard is centered, off-center, or at one end of the arena like the Avalanche used to have at the Pepsi Center.

Maybe I'm different, but I don't give a rats ass about amenities at sport events. Just keep the bathroom lines short and I'm happy.

It shouldn't be a deal breaker by any means and some people do overreact to it.

Also, I'd care a little more if I actually thought the Islanders were going to be playing there forever. It's becoming more obvious that this was a band-aid arena, so I'm less inclined to throw a fit over stuff like that.

It's a shame because the arena itself is really nice. Just not built properly for hockey, and is located in the wrong place for a team that really belongs on Long Island.

I still think they'll ultimately end up back at the Coliseum. I'd be fine with Willets Point or Belmont, but I still believe that the Coliseum makes the most sense. ~15,000 seats is fine for a team that likely isn't ever going to sell out every home game.

They just need to Install a track system in the offseason so they can slide it over center court for basketball and center ice for hockey, but at this point as it seems they arent in the long term plans judging by the financial report Bloomberg let out last week, It looks like that would be a waste of capital

Way to aim high.... lol
I don't see the league approving that move. They are furious over the mayor of Hempstead and the city council for not getting it done for years.
They may go back to LI, but I cant see it being there with that history unless Bettman is gone.
