Losing to garbage teams doesn't help the cause. Onto the next one. PS Babs make Rielly your captain.

Leafs outshot them 44 to 23, so there's nothing to worry about. As long as they keep outshooting teams the law of averages will eventually come around their way.

when hyman was winning puck battles and getting matthews the puck his complete inability to follow the play with matthews was acceptable.
- daeth

Very true and it was not reasonable to expect Hyman to continue the level of play he id in the first 34 games or so. He is a rookie and he was playing balls to the wall all the time.

I think what we are seeing is a little bit of back to reality with regards to this rebuild.

We are still quite a few pieces away. With Rielly's play, I am not sure we have a good #1 or a #2 Dman. I don't know where Andersen is in the goalie rankings but it seems like, right now, he isn't elite by any means.

Putting talent with Matthews leaves us with nothing on the other lines. Where would Kadri an Komorov be without Nylander? Where would Prozac and VanDreamsDyke be without Marner?

We are another 2 top 6 wingers so guys like Brown an Hyman can properly be on the 3rd or 4th lines.

not sure if joking but yes he would make them better for sure

that contract though lol. can't win a cup with that contract hanging around

He is considerably better than most of what we have.

It was absolutely the right move to trade him. The rebuild isn't happening in a year or two. It will take time, and his cap hit lasted a long time.

Good game guys . We both have seen better ones. 3-3 score mid third period would be amazing, and i'm sure we will see it years to come .

well yea breaking down the season to randomly chosen dates can make a team look better or worse than they are. for example the 12 games before the games you mentioned the Leafs were 9-2-1.

this really isnt all that surprising.

its reached the point of the season where younger teams start to fall off and more vet laden seasoned teams pick up their game. this is nothing new.... its has happened over and over again in the NHL's history.

I for one am just happy that the leafs have an administration in place that wont panic and start making dumb moves in an effort to "just" make the post season. sure, playoff experience would be great, but so will the lessons learned when it pertains to just how long a season is and how to play consistent hockey the entire time.

i have no idea how te leafs will end up at season's end in the standings... anywhere between a bottom 10 finish or a playoff berth. either way, there are positive lessons to be learned here.

100% agree Dozzer.

This season was never about the standings but the progress and development of the younger players that are the future of this team.

Which is pretty much a normal 2nd half of the season for the leafs.
