So we need to get a cup for Iginla in order to be considered a dynasty? This is seriously dumb.
The 90s Avalanche aren't a dynasty because Bourque got his (well-deserved) cup playing for them.

Not here to debate whether it's dumb. I guess most things that are brave and noble are "dumb" in a way. What's not debatable: the greatest teams have attempted this as another mark of true dynasty. Not the most important mark, perhaps, but highly meaningful. Patrick Roy said of Bourque, "A name was missing from that [Cup], and today it is back to normal." Apparently the Hawks' own fans don't believe they're great enough to achieve this with Iginla. Fine, but shying away from iconic moments is telling indeed for your place in history.
