Newly appointed national team coach, and former bench boss of Sweden's U20 team, Rikard Grönborg referred to Asplund as the new Henrik Zetterberg, saying that they have the same mind for the game.

nylander can play either wing, they have him in rochester as lw
struggling 2 points in 13 games since world jrs

asplund is a center but can play lw

I dont think we're gonna see Nylander with the sabres until he's really ready.
Im wondering what we do with girgs/larssons, even sam if Asplund makes the team as a center.
Sam doesnt do a bad job at canter and it would be nice to play ROR/Jack/sam as our top 3 C's but that leaves us needing legit wingers
Girgensons was doing a decent job and i actually like larssons as a pest type 4th line center.
I think its going to come down to how the team wants our 4th to perform when its completely built.

No Ennis, he has fallen off the face of the earth. From going to the World Championships or whatever you call it at the end of the year a couple year ago and playing well to fourth line non producer now. He has just lost his way. Not sure what they can get for him with that contract.

If we can't make a trade for a LH defenseman...
this is my UFA target

6. Karl Alzner, Washington Capitals
7 of 12

Current contract
Washington Capitals defenseman Karl Alzner is completing a four-year contract worth $11.2 million. The annual salary is $2.8 million and has a modified no-trade clause in the final season.

Current performance
Alzner, 28, only has 11 points in 55 games, but it's his defensive game that makes him valuable. The 6'3", 219-pounder is a solid shutdown blueliner. He leads the Capitals in blocked shots (109) and shorthanded time on ice per game (three minutes and 12 seconds), plus he's third in average time on ice per game (20:04).

Value
A big, strong, defensively responsible blueliner such as Alzner will attract lots of suitors as a free agent in July. He could get a five-year deal worth around $5.5 million per season.

He would help, its hard to fix things in ufa. Kinda have to make your piece with the player and not look too much at the dollar amount. Still probably wanna find one via trade too.

An equally bad contract is my guess.

I think expansion comes down to ennis, bogo, larsson, girgens, moulson and ullmark

lately I have seen ullmark and ennis in a lot of mock drafts

is there a league that does a worse job at schedule making than the NHL? this is brutal on the players.

I believe this was the nhlpas idea. The players wanted a sweet week off in the middle of the season as a reward for playing in the world whatever thingamabob before the season started. I love watching the every other day games, but theres no way this is a good idea.

Well maybe we'll have more than a Johan Larsson clone as some have stated
