How many games has this team played this week? They may have blown their proverbial load in the first period and didn't have a ton left in the tank except to play a decent road game to insure the win the rest of the way. They aren't robots and the other team has a say in how well they execute as well. It is tactical, the Leafs no doubt shored up some of their line matches that were killing them in the 1st and adjusted how they defended the Sabres offense. Anyway, let's see how they do tonight.
- GilPerreault11

Quoting back!

In the words of Jay Cutler, "Doooooooooooon't care." A good team would've buried the Leafs. Make them feel like a real pile of trash. Now they get to feel good about their next opponent because although they didn't win, for two periods of the game, they pretty much throttled the Sabres. Sabres should've slammed the door on em. Wiped that smug look off Babcock's face. That guy is a big Delta Bravo

If you take your emotional feelings out of it, they were sharp jerseys. Great lines, sharp colors. It was far detached from tradition and that's why people's hated it.

Of which this team really doesn't have much to begin with.

This year it's I'm too poor to travel outside the Eastern Time Zone.

If we can't make a trade for a LH defenseman...
this is my UFA target

6. Karl Alzner, Washington Capitals
7 of 12

Current contract
Washington Capitals defenseman Karl Alzner is completing a four-year contract worth $11.2 million. The annual salary is $2.8 million and has a modified no-trade clause in the final season.

Current performance
Alzner, 28, only has 11 points in 55 games, but it's his defensive game that makes him valuable. The 6'3", 219-pounder is a solid shutdown blueliner. He leads the Capitals in blocked shots (109) and shorthanded time on ice per game (three minutes and 12 seconds), plus he's third in average time on ice per game (20:04).

Value
A big, strong, defensively responsible blueliner such as Alzner will attract lots of suitors as a free agent in July. He could get a five-year deal worth around $5.5 million per season.

I never saw the same writing and posting similarities, first of all you can write a sentence and make a cogent argument when you want to; also you appear to be left leaning or at least #NeverTrump, something I can't picture Hard Hat being.

Yeah because so many people on the west coast have to race home from work to catch the Buffalo Sabres game.

That used to be true for me during the week. I have a more flexible schedule now. But it kinda sucked to pay for gamecenter and only catch half of every game.

Regarding who is more NHL ready Nylander or Asplund:

I'm on record saying that Asplund's deeper book of pro exp (100+ games) gives appearance of him being more "NHL ready" if needed today

I had no idea he has had 100+ pro games already, not sure he will have to play very long in Rochester. The Sabres might have their 3rd line center sooner than we think. Girgs might be dealt at the deadline if the Sabres are out of the playoffs.

TO won't care about so called moral victories, Toronto won't take anything away from that game other than not getting any points and that they have 5 or 6 teams breathing down their neck.

Hey go figure, one of the better posters on this forum the past few years seems to understand these things.

On one of murrays last interviews he thought Asplund was very close. Wouldn't shock me if they started him a 4C next year in the nhl and eventually he plays himself up to the 3C slot.

I myself am of the thinking Asplund is in Buff next year and Nylander in Roch.

But I thought they were a LW and RW respectively?
