On the Coots things...

If we go off his career and not this season I am okay with trying him as 2C next season. To the Coots fans their are multiple reasons why he doesnt put up a lot points (in before only thing that matters are 5v5/60 points), to the detractors there are excuses. I believe the truth on Coots falls some place in the middle.

What I know for sure is I dont want him anywhere near 1C and I think he could be the best 3C in the league.

The way the top 6 is currently built (ignoring the 3 line though) doesnt afford that chance I think..

Easy to forget how good 11/14/93 were to start the season. He's definitely a 2/3 tweener, but nothing wrong with him being a 3C if the top 2 can pick up the scoring. Teams could always use a guy like Couturier on their team.

But I will say if moving him brings back a piece to make this team better, I'm all for it.

No, they don't have enough skill and speed yet.

At what cost? I have liked MDZ but he hasn't been good this year at all. I guess it comes down to where Hextall see's some of the youngsters at. To me he doesn't offer anything more th Macdonald and we are tied to that contract.

Not at an exorbitant cost for sure. MDZ hasn't been great but he's had injury trouble this year,.

Out of that group he may be one I would be ok with...unless Laughton can take his place.....Hextall did say recently that he likes him.

Jury is out for sure.....but with injuries and line up crunches I do wonder if it's an opportunity thing. I would hate he goes else where and figures it out.....sharp...Bobrovsky....ect.

I'm not sure why everyone always thinks a good third line center has less value then a good second line guy.....a shut down center with size and PK ability is worth his weight in gold.
