The long offseason has really paid off this year for Hoss the Boss.

I have not watched every game this season like in years past but it looked like to me that Seabrook had his best game of the year last night .

Solid game all around for the defense in my opinion. Everyone had their heads up and made some good breakout passes. A few miscues in their own zone, but were able to recover. 3rd pair had a solid outing. Kempny showed his speed and willingness again. If he learns better D-zone coverage, he can be a solid piece. Lets just hope he plays more. The third line had a solid game and it was nice to see Panarin shoot more.

Looking at the way they are structured, another big center/winger seems to fit like a glove for this team. A Hanzal presence would help against the likes of Kopitar, Carter, Kesler, Getzlaf, Thornton, Pavelski. Maybe the presence of a Hanzal and or Luke Schenn will help with the compete factor when it gets ratcheted up in the playoffs.

He kicked ass last night.

Detroit's going to want Kempny and/or Forsling as a starting point for any of their forwards. They need defense.
