Makes sense....too bad they aren't run by the league like AZ was.....another feather in the NHL's cap for the new book....."How to Run a Professional League for Dummies by Dummies"

Then they could retain 1/2 that player's salary and flip them to another team for more draft picks or prospects. The expansion draft could be very interesting.

(quotes not working)
Given the choice ..... would Vegas want TVR signed at $825,000 for one year then RFA or Kruger at $3,083,333 cap hit (but because of the way the contract was structured they would only be paying $3,475,000 next year and only $2,300,000 the following year. So they would only be paying $2,887,500 per year) and then UFA.

For an expansion team Kruger could be a 2nd line shut down center with pedigree, leadership, mentoring skills. For an expansion team TVR could be a top 4 dman.

I think it would depend on what else they can get in the expansion draft.

If I was Vegas, I'd rather have TVR. Warts and all, he's a top 6 Dman, at a reasonable cost.

But, being a Hawks fan, I'd rather Vegas took Kruger. As much as I like Kruger and what he brings, defensively, his skill set can be replaced ( I hope) at a lower cost. He's a luxury this cap strapped team can't afford.

Hossa probably resting (regular maintenance day). He will probably play instead of Desjardins.

Is this political commentary in a hockey blog? Just curious.

Picture of Trump with peeps for hair? What would the actual comment be?

Desi is in as a placeholder for Hossa.

I love the guy but he's been in and out too much this year and the young guys have been outplaying him. I can see him getting dealt in a small deal for another vet (much like how CHI acquired him).

I would love Stan to pick up another veteran Centre who can win draws and help out on the fourth line.

* Boyd Gordon (limited playing time in PHI but elite faceoff guy - 2nd in '14-15 and 3rd last year in short-handed FO wins)

* Jay McClement

* John Mitchell

... few guys that come to mind. NO... they are not going to move the needle in the offensive zone, but if there is an injury and/or Kero/Moose/Hino/Schmaltz all get schooled in playoffs, it's a nice option to have.

Ah ... so satire isn't a form of commentary ... got it.

ER, what is the actual comment? "He has funny hair?" If so, I guess if you infer that from it, OK. Feels more personal than political to me.

Marian Hossa was not at the morning skate but will play tonight vs. the Jets. Corey Crawford in goal. Scott Darling likely vs. the Oilers.

Yep - I'm down for that too. Boyle has a ton of experience as well which is HUGE!

Wonder what Stevie's price would be for him.

Rumor has it that Ottawa will ask Phaneuf to wave his NMC for the waver draft ,thinking Vegas will not take his contract due to age length $$ . May the HAWKS do the same ,and protect some younger players . ?

They could try with Seabs and hope LV doesn't take him.

Could be something. Could be nothing.

Teams scout other teams all year. Sharks they are most likely scouting as a playoff opponent. Highly doubtful there's a trade there. B's could be re: a trade.

The Hawks have about a dozen guys who scout. So do the math.
