Last year they rode a red hot Mason to get in, hard to see that happening right now - BiggE
Even if goaltending has a complete turn around ... They still can't score.
Can't see them turning it around especially that there are a number of teams around them playing better all round hockey

No. Subban him with a bridge deal.
Flyers have been far too nice in giving out 'new nhl' contracts. - flyer_nutter
The bridge deal for Subban just meant they had to pay a premium for him on the next deal. |

Per GM Ron Hextall, the #Flyers have placed Travis Konecny on Injured Reserve and recalled F Jordan Weal from the @LVPhantoms. - PhillySportsGuy
Wonder if he gets in or is the 13thF. |

If he's resigned I'm shifting my commitment to the Vegas Golden Knights - arichardson22
I'm fine with him being re-signed....for the Phantoms. seriously tho, the 4th line works hard. they really do. they typically do a decent job keeping the puck in the offensive zone but they offer almost no offense minus that hot period VDV scored several goals. I credit them for working as hard as they do. I just would like to see a 4th line that is faster and can pot a goal more often. |

I hope he does.
He's been playing well down there. Would be a shame just to have him sit. Curious though if they keep him in the middle or put him on the wing. |

He has to be playing. Otherwise he could have stayed on the Phantoms for two more home games. |

I would have explored a Schenn+ for Trouba swap this past offseason when they were both RFAs, but that's gone now. - jmatchett383
Damn. Trouba-Provorov pairing could be nice.
I think after the year Schenn had it could have been a one for one. |

I think Leier will come up for the road trip, but MDZ should play as soon as he's healthy so they can hopefully trade him. - Feanor

I doubt it. Young RHD have disproportionate value. Edmonton got Hall for Larsson, don't forget. |

No, but if you're going to trade Simmonds as well, you're basically accepting that you're not serious about competing for a couple years. That's the part I was referring to. - jmatchett383
Ahhh.
I'd keep Simmonds and Voracek. Think both can be valuable down the line, and as far as power forwards go Simmonds has enough speed to be able to handle a bit of a decline down the road imo. Keep Couturier as well.
I think I stronly explore trading Giroux no matter how minimal the return would be. Would also explore Schenn depending on the return. The rest of them (on offense) quite frankly I dont care if I see again. |

Yes, but I read it was fairly minor so I assumed he'd be healthy by Tuesday. |

I think Giroux is fine as a leader. This team is losing due to a lack of talent. Simmonds would bring back much more young talent than Giroux. That's more important than veteran leadership IMHO.
FWIW, Simmonds really hasn't been very good this year. He's been gobbling up goals on the PP, but he's been just as ineffective at even strength as Giroux. Perhaps more. Not sure why fans always seem to give him a pass, but Giroux and Voracek assume so much blame. - PhillySportsGuy
I dont question G as a leader, his maturity or anything of that nature. I question his overall decline, and the contract going forward. His decline is not just this season, its just more so obvious.
I love G, truly wanted him to hoist a cup for this time as the captain but I think they rode him so hard all those years that we are seeing the effects. Hell playing for piss poor teams for years, having to carry them and seeing no winning results can't be good for the motivation aspect either. |

I totally disagree with this entire paragraph. Simmonds puts forth effort and that's all we really want to see here with the occasional reward here and there. Voracek tries...but his decisions on the ice are questionable at times with his passes and shooting. G has straight up stunk up the place the past two years, whether that stems from injury or what, but he's the one we focus on because of his contract and the "C" on his chest. Rarely have we seen effort from him this year.

Yes. And a whopping 2 of them have NHL experience. I don't think they'll all fail, but expecting all of Myers, Sanheim, Morin, Hagg, et. al. to be effective top-4 caliber NHL defensemen isn't realistic, either. Trouba was a young yet proven top-pair/top-3 NHL defenseman. |

They need players who can put the puck in the net. Guys who can create offense. Outside of a few guys this lineup is completely void of playmakers and finishers. |

I just don't think we should be rolling the same 4th line for 3 consecutive seasons. Time for some new faces. |

Just because they have some doesn't mean they are going to all be top pair guys. And if you can get a potential top pair guy who is still young I don't think you would pass it up.
Also you can always use the depth to maybe fill a forward need then.

MacDonald hasn't been as bad as people like to make him out to be and I actually think he made himself into a more tradable piece. They could retain salary to move him. Maybe add a piece like Laughton to make a deal if needed.
Read I think could be moved.
Weise right now isn't doing much but I think he could have a better year next season.
Also I think there is a strong chance Read is taken in the expansion draft. - J35Bacher

Giroux actually had a pretty great second half last year. He, Ghost, and Mason were the reason they made the playoffs. But I agree that he's been pretty awful the past 2+ months. |
