Please just stop pretending to be a Flyers fan.

I'll admit I can be super snarky and pessimistic, but you seem to revel in the team doing poorly, and I don't get why.

- jmatchett383

You mocked me for questioning the Hakstol hire, yet you've been posting comments the last 3 weeks about the guy being clueless.

Can't have it both ways.

It's pretty unsettling that no one really knows who the goaltender is going to be next year. But since next year is another throw away season, I guess it doesn't matter.
- PLindbergh31

Definite throw away season if no changes are made in leadership or core.
Toronto, Ottawa, Florida, , will all continue to improve next year. Tampa will be better and the top 4 Metro teams won't change either. Hell maybe even the Canes will pass the Flyers next year.... If they don't make any changes

I'll give some time. They did have some cap issues that they may soon be out of finally. They have defense depth from drafting well. They have some depth forwards in Lehigh Valley.

A big problem I see is that it now looks like Giroux has just hit a regression quicker then probably the team thought he would. if that's the case this team needs to find a future top line center. Dealing Giroux probably won't make that happen. For me the only person I would deal that could possibly do that would be Simmonds.

They do have some tough choices to make moving forward.

MacDonald, Read, Wiese all on the books next year. What is that about 11 million in dead money?

Really makes no sense to move Giroux though. He wouldn't really bring back much a return.

Simmonds would bring back a return

- PhillySportsGuy

You're not wrong, but I think Simmonds would provide the type of veteran leadership that a young team needs. G, IMO, is simply more expendable

If you want to question some of the moves, whatever, have at it. As a fan, you don't have to drink the Kool Aid like some people do.

But with stuff like, "Well, next year's a throwaway year too" it's obvious that you would rather the team continue to struggle than do well so you can have something to complain about.

Clearly, we should do what the Sixers did, get rid of all of our best players and finish in the basement for 3 years in the hopes that we'll be good in a decade.

Personally? People cope in different ways.

Frustration to the point of borderline hatred. That's just for me anyway.

I miss them being enjoyable to watch and having a shot at (frank)ing something.

I've reached apathy with the current season. They're not fun to watch. It's fine to be angry with the current team with their recent play.

But if you're hoping/expecting them to be bad for the forseeable future and take joy in them being horrible then, to me, you're not a fan.

It's just odd to me that some people would rather them be bad so they can female dog about things than for the team to win.

No, but looking to move a 29 year old center with a high cap hit who's play is declining when your team is a few years from contending is a sound and smart move.

I dont think many fans realized how long this process is going to take. Things look belak right now because their top players are not playing well. Fans are going to have to be a lot more patient.
- MJL

Not much choice on the patience part.
the other part is just an observation, that eventually the patience had better pay off....if you don't think so ask MacT, Tambellini and Lowe in Edmonton....all FORMER GM's

MacDonald hasn't been as bad as people like to make him out to be and I actually think he made himself into a more tradable piece. They could retain salary to move him. Maybe add a piece like Laughton to make a deal if needed.

Read I think could be moved.

Weise right now isn't doing much but I think he could have a better year next season.

Also I think there is a strong chance Read is taken in the expansion draft.

Unless he has a big injury he is hiding it's time to run. This decline has been more than just this season.

I love G, but it's time to split.

Exactly. Now, if in 2 years, you want to lock up a 22 year old Provorov who is your #1 Dman to an 8 year deal, that is when you do it. He would be 30 when the deal ends.

It goes beyond dark humor in my eyes. There's a few people on here who seem to enjoy saying, "I told you so" more than have the team be successfull. 2Real is the most glaring example, but there's a few others.

No. Subban him with a bridge deal.

Flyers have been far too nice in giving out 'new nhl' contracts.

With the way he has looked this year I think this has moved to the forefront. I don't think the Flyers thought he would decline or look like this, this quickly.

And if I can move Giroux I think I want to move Simmonds. I know he is loved but I also think he can bring back a future 1c.

If we're doing that, may as well move Voracek, Schenn, and Couturier too. If we're gonna gut our team, then don't half ass it. If you want to tank, then do it right.

Also, I think that, if we move Simmonds, in 2 years we'll all be thinking, "Man, we could really use a guy like Wayne Simmonds right now."

Haha well 2Real is just a persona. Just looking for reactions. I refuse to believe that's a real person.
