In my opinion you have that totally wrong. Gostisbehere has been poor defensively pretty much all season long. On the 3rd goal last night, which was a horrendous goal on Mason, look at Gostisbehere's stick position. He played that pretty poorly. Thats only one issue of many hes had. - MJL
If you were the coach, would you bench him again or let him play through it? |

The Flyers should leave Giroux unprotected in the expansion draft. |

I'd personally let him play. He sat out 3 games. It's up to Gostisbehere now. He did some good things last night. |

Well, we were about to settle it like the Jets and the Sharks, 1950's gang style. so I'm personally relieved. |

I don't know if this has been brought up yet and please educate me on what I missed. The Jason Chimera goal. Ghost and Gudas are on the ice. It looks like Gudas missed an assignment or he's simply coming on the ice after a change and got lost in coverage, whatever, same thing.
Both players are right sided defensemen out there together. Why? Who is this on??
It was on Gudas, and it was a piss poor lack of on ice awareness. Sometimes only one defenseman gets to change, and pairings are mixed up for a shift or part of a shift. - MJL
To me that's on Gudas no? Regardless of their positions that's where they are on the ice at the moment the play was developing. Ghost was clearly established on the right side to defend it. As to how they wound up out there together who knows - Just5
I don't know why there were out there together,
but as far as the play I put it on Gudas there since
he was in the middle of the ice. - Scoob
I agree with all of you.
Look, I know how I come off. For anyone who needs to hear this, I know I'm not right about everything. I'm a student of the game like anyone else. With this said, to me having two defenseman who have been playing on the right side for the majority of the season on the ice together in a half line change is on the bench boss. If I'm being fair both RD should be on the LW, which still leaves the RW wide open but what I'm saying is, why wasn't Brandon Manning sent on to the ice in the line change, who was Gudas' D partner on the left side. |

No one on here is going to know what was happening on the bench that led to Gudas coming on the ice with Ghost. However, that was a simple read and Gudas blew it. |

I agree. I just think the coach should be aware of who is put out there. |

Yes, it could have been a bad call. Don't know what was happening on the bench. |

Voracek made a bad decision on the play as well, he went toward the puck carrier but could have caught Chimera as well. |

Gord Murphy changes the defense. I'm pretty sure that he is aware of who is put out there. |

I never played at a high level, but when I played it was always the player's responsibility to pay attention to when the guy you're replacing is coming off. Right D replaces right D....right? |

And he's just saying which pairing is up next. The players know who their man is. |

The Flyers turned the puck over while making a line change. D got screwed up and they gave up a goal. Big deal. Happens all the time. Maybe the Flyers could respond and score a (frank)ing goal! |

Regardless of the bad line change on the second goal, Wiese has to get it deep so they can line change, it's on Wiese before Gudas and Ghost. In saying that Mason needs to make those saves. |

And this isn't odd to you or anyone else because one would think that Gudas would replace Gostisbehere. |

I'd have to look at the situation and all the factors involved, but normally RD replaces RD. Regardless though, that is zero factor in the goal being scored. As was stated above. Puck doesn't get in deep enough, Isles stretch pass up, Gudas is not aware of Chimera, goal scored. Team breakdown. |
