Boston fans never complain about anything ever because they won a Cup in the last dozen years. Same as Carolina fans.
- Feanor

Boston fans are a tortured fan base. I don't blame them. Only 10 Championships since 2001.

Apparently Read got injured at practice, so Wiese may remain in the lineup.

Im not saying his defensive ability is satisfactory. Not at all. I just think its being seriously overblown, in part because he isnt scoring.

If he had 35-40 points right now, not a single person would even be talking about his defense.

Also, the team defense as a whole has been about as bad as it gets.. That will magnify the lapses in players games as well. This is not a defense of Ghost btw. I think his defense meh. I honestly dont think its much different though from last season. Just not as many people cleaning up after him...

Thats the wrong read. Gostisbehere's defensive play has been pretty poor.

Amazing. I don't dislike any of the Boston teams except the Bruins.

So this quote:

With this said, if you want to sit developing players who have been nothing but an asset on a nightly basis for one game, fine. Three however is inexcusable. Indefensible. Gostisbehere is as dangerous an offensive threat on the Power Play as G, Jake, Simmonds and Schenn. Gostisbehere was clearly missed on the PP, which fell out of the top ten in the league and missed in OT last Saturday.

On top of this, in Gostisbehere's return, he's paired with a mirror older version of himself on the third pair. These are Coaching decisions. Does Hakstol want to win games or not? Because misusing players isn't giving the Flyers the best chance at winning. This isn't his first season as the bench boss. He should know his players by now.

That doesn't tell me how they are using him incorrectly.

-He's been on the top PP all season and wasn't producing.
- He's been making bad plays in his own zone at 5v5\
-He's paired with Streit now but he has played with almost everyone other then Provorov and was still struggling.

- J35Bacher

This isn't true that he hasn't producing on the PP. The Flyers top unit getting the brunt of the workload with the man advantage, whether it shows up in the stats or not, everyone contributes. We were within the top ten for most of the season. You think because G didn't assist on the lown goal last night last night on the PP, he didn't contribute to it? The PP filters through G.

Maybe the switching up of partners and the scratches are apart of the problem? Nobody settles in. I don't Mac has been above average next to Provorov but I do think the two have been allowed to settle in. So explain to me, why does Mark Streit help Shayne Gostisbehere?

I don't know if this has been brought up yet and please educate me on what I missed. The Jason Chimera goal. Ghost and Gudas are on the ice. It looks like Gudas missed an assignment or he's simply coming on the ice after a change and got lost in coverage, whatever, same thing.

Both players are right sided defensemen out there together. Why? Who is this on??

I don't know why there were out there together,
but as far as the play I put it on Gudas there since
he was in the middle of the ice.

To me that's on Gudas no? Regardless of their positions that's where they are on the ice at the moment the play was developing. Ghost was clearly established on the right side to defend it. As to how they wound up out there together who knows

It was on Gudas, and it was a piss poor lack of on ice awareness. Sometimes only one defenseman gets to change, and pairings are mixed up for a shift or part of a shift.
