While Theodore is a really good prospect,
He's still a question mark as to how good he'll actually be

I like Theodore,
But no... he is not enough for Kane
And a 1st in this draft isn't that great
Only way that 1st helps us is if we can trade it for another player

Why not try to give up a good forward prospect on the verge, like Fasching, and see what good defenseman prospect we can get back?

Eichel has been healthy for almost 40 games now. Kane too.

This team isn't good enough. Or close to it.

There is no staying the course. It's either moves are made to better the defense, or we turn into East Edmonton

is make sure we get back the RIGHT defenseman
Not a defenseman who MIGHT be the right guy just bc they're gonna add some extra stuff in the deal

If that means we wait till the offseason,
Then that's fine

What's MOST important is that the main piece we get back is the RIGHT piece

I would rather add an extra 3m and get JT instead

After last night, I'm convinced Bailey when fully developed can do 75% of what Kane can do. Plus add Nylander. The forwards will be fine if they subtract someone

What we need to do IF we trade Kane...
is make sure we get back the RIGHT defenseman
Not a defenseman who MIGHT be the right guy just bc they're gonna add some extra stuff in the deal

If that means we wait till the offseason,
Then that's fine

What's MOST important is that the main piece we get back is the RIGHT piece

That's great ........ a couple of prospects that may or may not amount to squat. I want all of them playing for us next year .............. 4 lines worth of that. You simply cannot have enough guys like Kane on your team. He's damn near the best player on the team right now and has been since Dec.

Extend him ....... now. If for no other reason to gauge his willingness to stay in Buffalo.

The problem is if we wait in the off-season the team that originally wanted him are now gone
And then we take the risk waiting to the deadline to trade him but we can't because we're in the playoffs..

We'll see what happens but if he keeps up this type of play he might be the most sought-out trade deadline equation for teams
