most of the proposals are a complete wash anyhow as I think Vegas is going to scare teams from making moves, but its always fun to debate these proposals

I was thinking that it would scare teams into making moves, but lately I have been thinking the same. With so many players to be protected and not enough slots among the 30 teams, I cant see too many trading options available and think we will see more roll the dice with who Vegas poaches from them

We are going through rough times ladies . Next couple of years is going to be rough. I see some fans finding other hobbies at the end of the year.

Here is my prediction of what goes down at the end of the year.

Marwood joins Shaw Cable and hosts a cooking show called So Much Better with Herbs and Mushrooms

Dragon moves to New York and opens up a revue on Broad Way called Pumping Iron ,Women and Willie .

Lefty gets a job in Edmonton Oil country and Stalks Connor McDavid every morning but never remembers a thing after lunch

ASL moves to Minnesota and opens up the Paul Bunyan Wood Pile social club.

Booner hosts an anger management group from his cabin from his cabin in Quesnel for the Hells Angels.

Belcher writes a novel The Power of Positive Thinking.

Don becomes a pastor in Vegas that meet every Sunday in the back of Walmart.

Makita gets arrested for one day losing it an walking through Parliament with a sawed of Shotgun screaming Damn Canucks.

Beatle John gets a job with the leafs in advertiing and promotions.

I open up a restaurant called Soup and a Blow Job in the Philippines.

and

Redmile buys a guitar and sits on a street corner singing I'm so Lonesome I could cry for Nickels.

We think every proposal is insane. Then a trade is made and no one can believe it happened.

lol you have a right to your own opinion.

I think day in and day out, we, more than any other franchise that I have seen on these boards, over value our current roster players in trade deadline proposals. Hansen is our best trade chip right now, there is no doubt, but a grade A defensive prospect and a NHL ready 22 year old power forward is not the return I think is realistic.

He's not NHL ready. He has played 250 games. He is last for regulars in plus minus on Washington.

Hes 22 years old and has played 250 games.
He has pretty much been a regular since he was 19. While plus minus is a poopty stat to go off of, I can debate it here. Wilson is plus 10, last or lowest plus minus on the team, in comparison, would have the highest plus minus on the Canucks... Plus minus is also a poopty stat when comparing players in different positions on different teams because WSH is +69 in goal differential and VAN is -26. +10 on a 4th line of limited minutes is not bad at all. How many games as a 22 year old is needed to qualify as a player as a NHL regular, in your opinion?

Had lots to sort through today, with a bunch of tasty highlights from last night's game and a new regime waiting for the Canucks in Boston tomorrow morning.

Here's the new blog:

He is easily better than any 4th liner we have.
He is a plus 10 as a 4th liner on WSH.
He has a 2 million dollar cap hit compared to Dorsett's 2.65 mill.
Tom Wilson is 22 and getting better, Hansen is 30 and aging (while one would argue is probably in his prime today)
He fights, hits, holds players accountable (not that Dorsett doesn't, kind of).

You need a specific player in your line up, you don't just want a line up full of frail/soft/smaller forwards. You can't compare stats all the time of players and expect that to be the deciding factor on a players value. I am not saying that asking for Bowey is unreasonable, you can ask for whoever you want, all I am saying is that you ultimately offering a 30 year old for a 22 year old NHL ready power forward and a really good defensive prospect. Hard as a caps manager/fan to make that deal
