No they didn't lose to the islanders. They got flat out beat by the islanders. The better team can lose to anyone. I don't even think the isles played their A game and really had a fairly easy game to play. |

YOu mean the same Islanders that are 7 - 1 - 2 over their past 10 games?
It had nothing to do with the Islanders and that isnt me taking anything away from them.
G, Coots, Jake, Schenn, Raffl and even though he scored Simmonds are useless right now.
Couple that with below average goaltending.ugh |

Goal and an assist tonight. Kids been killing it in the qmjhl but its unlikely he's ready for the NHL next year. Laberge is starting to find his game a bit too after that devastating hit and Wade Allison is ramping it up as well. None of these kids are likely ready next year though. Gotta hope Hextall sells who he can at the deadline and guys like Lindblom and Laughton step in and step up next year. Give Weal a chance for crying out loud. - Slipperypickle
2 goals. He got credit for their first goal later on.
Edit: late |

So Shayne Gostisbehere's return was exactly what anyone would expect. Impactful offense and weak defense. This is what he is. This is on Ghost. However, how he is used is on the coach. You might have to give Ghost sheltered minutes or give him a D partner he can work with.
Now, the Gostisbehere and Streit pair was also what anyone not named Dave Hakstol would expect. Weak defensively all around, which I cannot believe it was even experimented with in a game.
Dave Hakstol might owe his career to Ghost. Last year prior to Ghost being called up, we weren't very good and Brandon Manning was over used. Enter Ghost and the offense comes in bunches. Another example outside of the two recent straight shutouts. I'm sure most of you recall the 1-0 victory that was Anthony Stolarz win in his career. I went to this game. Ghost didn't for whatever. Injury, healthy scratch, whatever, the offense didn't get off the bus either.
The point is, there is no excuse for Ghost not to play for long stretches. He's as important to the offense as G or Jake. I know to some Hakstol is God's gift to coaching but in my mind, he's not very perceptive. |

It's pretty obvious that no matter what Hakstol does, you're going to crticize him. That's fine, you're entitled to an opinion.
Which D partner do you think Gostisbehere can work with?

Well the 10 seconds with Gudas didn't work. Streit was atrocious tonight, but he gets to play every game. AMAC was his usual self too... stellar. Provorov and Manning were ok. But I'm sure it's Ghost's fault.
He did nothing wrong on the Chimera goal, as Gudas was completely lost and Mason gonna Mason. And if anyone blames Ghost on the third goal....... First one should have been stopped too. Greiss would have saved it. But the penalty was on none other then Mark Streit. |

The 3rd goal is not Gostisbehere's fault, as it really should've been a routine save. Look at the replay though, and Gostisbehere's stick position. That's bad defense right there.
MacDonald played another solid game tonight, as did Provorov.

Man, did that game suck last night. At this point I'm just enjoying watching Provorov. The rest of this team can pretty much go (frank) themselves, they play with as much heart and urgency that you normally see in a preseason game. |
