Murphy and Domi for Stepan a 1st and Graves. Get it done Gorton. - nyrangers9479
i would actually consider this. Domi is legit and Murphy looks like he could be a decent player. Step is overpaid already IMO. I doubt AZ would do it though. |

Interesting. Left shot, however, which isn't ideal. I have no clue what the Bruins plans for him are, and whether he has any NMC in his contract that would require that he protected. - Pete V
Last night was tough to watch sometimes with ducks crowding Hank in there it generally always an issue, especially in the playoffs. They have no big bodies to cover that |

We really don't need young forwards and can't we keep our first rd pick for once grr |

I wouldn't mind a veteran grit rental at forward if it doesn't cost too much, but yeah, the priority should be defense, at least defensive depth.

Connor Murphy, 6'4 215 and has an edge to his game. Does anyone think McIlrath would be any worse than Klein/Girardi right now? Not trying to bring the debate back up, he's gone but just curious. |

He played fairly well last season and did get better the more he played. I'd say a small upgrade to Klein, but I do not have an issue with Girardi; nor think McIlrath would be better. |

Plus every team needs a player going Bald. Stepan is our bald guy - TPC
any chance we can trade kleins hair to stepan? |

Elliotte Freedman posted this in his 30 points yesterday:
"11. The Rangers have been looking for defencemen, and, when Matt Hunwick was scratched last week by Toronto, I wondered if there was a fit. He played there and he’s a popular teammate. But I’m not sure that’s a match. New York is looking for right-handed shooters, which Hunwick is not. They already have Nick Holden on the off-side. Something to keep an eye on, though." - airjan23
plus hunwick is terrible... hunwick was our 7th Dman, he is TOR like top 3.. that tells you everything you need to know about TOR D at the moment. |

On McIlrath, I like the kid, hope he succeeds, so it is with no joy that I say that I think he kind of sucks. I don't think he's even close to the player Girardi is. Klein is just having a terrible year, but we know he's been good in the past. Hopefully, he can find his game, because if it doesn't come soon, the Rangers will acquire a right side dman, and he will be the 7th defensemen.

But if they shoot for a Dman at the deadline, is there any sense in hanging on to a 1st just because it's been 4 years? This draft is supposed to be pretty weak outside the top 5 and we're gonna be picking around 20th. I would think this is exactly the year to trade it away. |

The Rangers should load up on the 3rd round picks, because they do a really good job with those.
Last year's third round pick will perform like a first rounder in the pros, eventually, IMO. |

If we're trying to win the Cup why the fack would we deal our most important and consistent forward who's entering his prime and plays in every single situation and is a proven playoff performer for a young kid with zero playoff experience - rangerdanger94

I really think they'll go into the post season with 8 defensemen, including Clendening, and every single one of them will be needed during the post season |

The funny thing is, there is some truth to it. I have complete faith in the management getting the best out of most of their picks, and don't mind not having a 1st. In reality most of these 1sts would be real close to 2nds anyway. Its not like the Rangers would suck enough to get into the top 10 never mind top 3. |

Im the first to admit I know nada, nil, nyeting, zero about first rd picks in any given year and I'm usually on the trade firsts bandwagon...but A) your gonna have to protect someone you can't probably that you get for this pick B) before you know it these high picks will be needed sooner then later and C) jimmy wants to watch and be excited about a draft for once haha |

my blessing is granted towards trading the first rounder in the right deal |

I was at a pre season game in 06-07 I think at the Coliseum & Rangers had Strudwick up at forward with Hollweg & ORr on a line. Talk about an absence of talent, but they were an interesting bunch. |

Not crazy about the citrus beers. Had Ellicottville Mosaic Sunrise last night since the beer store was out of Stainless Steel IPA. |
