I think I may have beat you on mentioning Murphy, but who really cares.

Brad will be fine, young D have their moments. If Kel is the player they lose in expansion I'd be thrilled, because losing Grabner will really piss me off. They gotta find a way to keep him. He brings people out of their seats. Maybe trade back for him if vegas takes him
- Slimtj100

Yeah, wonder if they can make a deal with Vegas before hand. Don't know if there are rules against that or not.

Can't believe how bad the PK was last year and now this year there is always some excitement in the crowd when Miller, Hayes or Grabs is on the PK. Its like its expected they will get a grade A chance.

It keeps umbrella PP units honest. Gotta keep two near the blue line to try and prevent Miller and/or Grabner from a short-handed breakaway; which is pretty much going to happen at least once a game.

Speed kills

I'm glad AV is giving Hayes and Miller PK duty. Really will go a long way to rounding out their overall game. I knew Hayes would be pretty good defensively, his rookie year showed that. I will say I'm a bit surprised how good Miller has been. Not his strongest area till this year.

Do it in the offseason. But understand keeping Stepan costs up one of Buch Zib Hayes Miller Vesey. He wanted his 6.5 million with a NTC, unfortunately he's not a 6.5 million dollar player.

You're high

Aren't we golden on cap space too? We had over 3M in free cap space entering this season plus there's a 5% increase each year

I've always been a big Miller fan. When we were discussing last year who might have to go of the three rfa's Miller, Kreids and Hayes, I always wanted to keep Miller and get rid of Kreids. Kreider finally proved me wrong this year.

Certainly worse players making that kind of money in the leauge. I think once Brassard got traded, Stepan became a ranger for life probably. It was one or the other

I think we are using an old standard when we are talking about when $6.5 million was a lot of money against the Cap. When Gomez and Drury signed $7 million deals, the cap was $30 million or so less. Now the elite centers make $9-10 million yearly.

it was actually 50.3 million that summer, but totally get your point

the lowest the cap ever was was 39 million for the 2005-06 season

The guy is 3 points shy of leading the team in points, is a proven playoff producer, is our #1 center, plays a key role on the power play, key role short handed, out on the ice when we're protecting a goal in the final minutes, out on the ice when we're down a goal in the final minute, is a captain, homegrown, matches up and shuts down the Crosbys, Kopitars, and Girouxs of the league and he's not worth 6.5M! Yea right

Let's trade him for (frank)in Domi a one dimensional midget sophomore because yea Domi will really fill in for Stepan for all situations. Then let's complain how we're small and soft afterwards.

I'm not worried about this year. It's the 4 years of his NTC that kicks in this summer. And I think all the guys we risk losing over him have the potential to be better players.
Zib Hayes Miller Buchnevich. Vesey maybe not but haven't seen enough to make that decision. Plus we're going to have to pay a RHD. McD will be due for a raise in 2 years as well. If we keep Stepan one of Miller Hayes Zibanejad Buchnevich is gone.

Soft? Have u seen Domi play? Stop talking, you have no idea what you're talking about. Domi is soft over Stepan has Stepan ever fought? Have u seen when Domi 1 punched Kesler? You're embarrassing yourself.

A meteor could hit the earth. There could be a plague of all-body herpes that makes people spontaneously combust.

All I am saying is that I am not too worried about Stepan's no trade clause, because I think he will play well throughout the contract, and I think he it too important to the team now.

Stepan had his jaw broken by Prust, had a wired shut, had to basically intake all nutrition through a straw, and only missed one playoff game. The guy is tough as nails. It's not all about fighting.

And I like Domi, but right now, he isn't even half of the player Stepan is.

Management. These decisions happen all the time. 50/50 Stepan is here next year. You'll see.

We were all convinced one of Hayes, Miller or Kreider would have to be let go last season because of not enough money.

All praise the almighty Gorton and peace be upon him.

How are we going to see if it's really 50/50. What if he is still here. How would be ever prove that it was really 50/50?
