I think you're right too this season (re: Gardiner), although I think it's arguable that Zaitsev has been as good. He doesn't put up as much offense, but has been pretty reliable for the most part.
Rielly is having a bad season, but hopefully he'll find his game again eventually. It's probably partly because of the matchups and responsibility he's had this year. If we get a true #1 dman, we'll likely see a big improvement in Rielly.
