Depends.

I think a team like Toronto could because they still have depth in Matthews, Marner, Bozak, Kadri.

I know some can play wings but I think with depth it does allow for it to happen.

Toronto knows that they're a long way from being a contender.

really just confirms that Hakstol posts here
- YuenglingJagr

Actually confirms that Hakstol isn't going to say anything negative publicly about his players.

Schultz has barely played this season. That's how you determine what a coach thinks of a player.

No he wouldn't.

Look at how once Hextall was hired, Mr. Snider allowed for him to do it his way. As much as he wanted to win I almost feel like his last gift was to put this franchise in hextall's hands knowing that he might be the guy to build a winner.

Glad to hear this.

Loves the position the Flyers are in re: Vegas expansion draft. Opened to signing a goalie in order to sacrifice him to meet exposure requirements to protect Stolarz; strong indication they will not expose Stolarz. Seemed to want to protect Stolie.

Probably not.

I think they are closer then people assume. They have some nice talent.

Just curious. What would you want in return for Simmonds. Like I have my ideas. Put your GM hat on and what would be your price?

hes not movable. In two years we will be saying, man all we need is some size up front for when we become a contender. he will still be in his prime. He stays

Interesting that a top 3 NHL defenseman wound up spending half a year in the minors in the prime of his career. That doesn't reflect well on Hexy
- Just5

Hextall's $3m signing of Medvedev didn't work out, but it was worth a shot.

He has been adequately playing in the top 3 on the Flyers.
- MJL

Coach says a defensmen whom he has used in his top 3 most of the season is a top 3 defenseman. What else would he call him and why does anyone find that surprising?

If at last year's STH meeting he called MDZ his #1 dman, that also would have been an accurate reflection of his usage that season.

I'd want some combination of quality prospects, young quality established players, quality draft picks.

Exactly. He's played well, but playing well is relative to one's ability. Everyone, including Hakstol and Hextall know that they are overplaying MacDonald.

Hes moveable but I would not trade him. All your doing is plugging a possible hole, if the player or players work out, and making another glaring hole. Not just in numbers, but in the leadership and other intanglables he brings.

What would be a bigger hole.

Finding a power forward type winger or getting a legit young top center?

And looking the previous Hextall drafts he has drafted some bigger wingers who play a 200 ft game. not saying they will be Simmonds but also not saying they can't bring offense as well.
