Not going to respond further than this, because based on your history you're a lost cause, but you brought up Belichick in comparison to Hakstol, which would imply you were comparing their coaching abilities. As Hakstol has no GM experience, comparing Belichick's role as GM to Hakstol's as a coach is a mindless comparison. - EducatedOpinion
I would change your handle. It's an oxymoron |

On the plus side, those same guys are saying Myers is ready to step in next season.
I know that has nothing to do with your back and forth but it might be good news in our current down turn. - mayorofangrytown
Yup! Loved hearing Mackenzie say those things about Myers the other night. And he's saying that while also saying Hagg is near ready. And Morin can't be too far either |

Yeah but that sit down talk happens regardless of who the coach is. Trust me, I'm not saying we should fire Haks and I'm not in a rush to, but when the argument of saying x player has grown under Haks we should keep him for the growth, I don't think Provorov should be some anchor point / reason to keep Haks as the coach like it has been said the past couple of days/games. - arichardson22
I'm with you on this point completely.
I've been hot on the regression topic since the end of November and all anyone can point to are the rookies and Schenn's increased numbers. You can't really use the rookies in that argument.
At this point I may be more than willing to take the Leafs path and start divesting myself of the former core players as much as I hate to see some of them go. It's really fruitless to hang onto these guys under the circumstances.
It's just my opinion but it's not any fun to watch this team right now. I'd rather be losing 6-5 than this death by attrition. |

I really think they're overestimating how quickly Myers will be in the NHL. He's going to only play about 50 Junior games this season due to multiple concussions, so for him to leapfrog Sanheim, Morin and Hagg who are playing full AHL seasons seems like a stretch. |

Maybe, maybe not.
There are enough wet blankets to pass around (I have plenty of my own) so I'll hang my hat on the fact that those guys believe he has the talent to make that kind of jump just like they did with Provorov. |

I agree and no one is a bigger Myers fan than me, and I've seen him as much as any Flyers fan.
Between all the injuries hindering playing time, still being pretty skinny, and a natural adjustment to the pro game (because he can make Ghost look passive at times with his style), I can't imagine it would hurt to at least spend 1/2 a year down there. But equally important is Hakstol playing 3 rookie d man at once? And Provorov...and maybe Ghost every third game? It seems unlikely that they'd want to not stagger it a bit like they're doing now. |

Yeah good points, but could your honest self not put Provorov with the Flyers or in the starting 6 looking at our other dmen on the roster? My main point of playing the Devils advocate for this argument: Provorov is a poor choice to say he's grown under Haks due to 1. Our terrible d core 2. His talent 3. The league wide knowledge he was going to step in for the Flyers and impact our team positively. - arichardson22
None of those 3 reasons factor into whether or not Provorov has grown as a player this season in my opinion. He's either grown or he hasn't. |

I guess you havent caught on to the fact yet, that professional sports coaches don't exactly approach a podium with the intent to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. - Doc_Sarcasm
