At least I'd know how many goals the Flyers have scored in the last 22 games...every 5 minutes. - Baxter27
Glad I can keep you informed! 1.68 goals per game. Competitive stuff isn't it? |

That made me laugh, thanks. All he had to do with give the puck to MacDonald who was wide open. - MJL

I know a lot of people suggest maybe the Flyers should have Julien or Hitchcock over Hakstol. but just a question:
Say they come in an Gostisbehere is still making the bad mistakes....Are they allowed to scratch Gostisbehere or will they be questioned for doing it?

Hitch won't think twice before he scratched Ghost. |

Top notch analysis there, never would've guessed the Flyers have had trouble scoring goals lately. |

Keep Ghost on the bench. No room for his "offensive" style of game on this team. We need good, hard, defensive players throughout the lineup. - jmatchett383

I was going to post in jest, "hey how does Holmgren look now to you?"
Honestly, the world is ending, the Flyers are void of talent, blah blah balh. Some are in their glory when the Flyers are struggling. Then their rhetoric and narrative fits for the moment. - MJL
i get the lack of patience since its been since 1975 this city has won a cup but as I have said a dozen times we all know Hextall planned on building this through the draft which is not an overnight process. he inherited some bad contracts that he has had to deal with. He inherited a team with many holes. I believe in his plan to build via the draft. I look at the Kings where he came from. Lombardi was hired after the 2005-2006 season. he did a good job of acquiring assets and fixed their AHL team which Hextall was the GM I believe. it took them til the 2011-2012 season to win their first cup. He inherited a few nice core pieces, acquired picks and drafted well and then made the moves to bring players like Carter and Richards. I want to see this built for the long term as much as it sucks in the short term. they are still in the acquire assets stage if you ask me. Personally I would move any of the UFAs at the deadline. I would think MDZ would get a decent return as a rental. |

People calling for Hak to be fired are insane.. Its been a year and a half and the team is in the process of a regrowth. I wont call it a rebuild. Nobody has been perfect from the players to the GM. They all share the brunt of whats going on here.
With that being said, I pose this question.
Is Ghost (even with his god awful/ horrible/ make TJ Brennan look like Rob Blake- defensive ability*) going to give you a better shot at winning a game than Schultz, Manning, Striet, or MacDonald?
*for the record I think Ghost's lack of offensive output is much more concerning than his defensive shortcomings |

Believe me, it's not going to be long before a wide faction of the fan base starts calling for Hextall's head. It was inevitable.
Hextall has some difficult hurdles to clear. One of the biggest is it looks right now that the team's franchise #1 center no longer looks like a franchise player. |

This.
For the past couple years now many posters here have said that it probably won't be until the 17-18 season that we start to see a real upturn in performance and expectations. Now many of those same posters have had it up to here (draws line above head) and want the house cleaned. Check the calendar folks, it's still the 16-17 season and we all knew it'd basically be a repeat of 15-16 since not much (and not enough) has changed.
In summary: everyone calm the frank down
