whoa whoa whoa, i said their defense is bad and andersen usually bails them out. that's the opposite of blaming him. his recent below average play combined with that defense is what is causing this massive tire fire but if he had any help at all he wouldn't have to carry them every game.

Watched it yesterday...mentioned it on here, but I was the only loser around at the time...well maybe a couple others who said "What's a Davis Cup?"

That was the rubber match between Canada and the Brits.

Boys are in a major funk right now. D has just been atrocious.

Yeah,

But the goaltending has also been poopty. the save percentage over what, the last month, is probably Bernier-ish and you can't blame the defense, softies are going in again.

The late tieing goal tonight... Kadri and Rielly (mostly Kadri), were out to (frank)ing lunch, how can you be 4 feet away from someone 4 feet in front of the net.

I guess it's the dog days because the Leafs are sure playing without any discipline and Andersen looks asleep.

D is poopty in front of the net - not getting to the loose pucks, but that franking bouncing puck tonight drove me nuts!

Gardiner has been brutal, Polak has been brutal, Marinicin has been brutal, Rielly playing on one leg. Once Marchenko gets "comfortable" we shouldn't see Polak play again ( I know this wont happen). The game is to fast now, you need puck moving dmen.

We are at the point now where the playoffs are a real thing. You don't want to waste a year and throw it away when youre so close. Playoff experience for the young group would be so HUGE going forward. They need to acquire a stable dman who can lock it down. Do what it takes. Im done saying the leafs are "entertaining". I want wins.

The Leafs will do everything needed to land Kevin Shattenkirk. As you know that since he is likely going to be a free agent that automatically makes him as good as Orr, Doughty, Robinson, Webber, Kieth and Lidstrom combined. Howard Berger is calling him a Norris Trophy type defenseman. Bring on silly season!!!

Oh...
Those are some talented players you're comparing him to. I think he's good too, but you may be going a little overboard comparing him to NHL greats like Colton Orr, Yannic Weber, or Keith Aulie. That's elite company.

I know Babs wants Marchanko to learn the system first.

But I really hope to see him play tonight. I'm open to any possible changes to this D it can't get worse.

You can make a case Gardiner has been the best defensmen this season. He's playing abysmal now..

But in the end I think Zaitzev has been our best D By a long shot. He's been CONSISTENTLY good all season long. Facing top matchups each game.

Rielly has had the tougher assignments but not by much. Time to lock that guy up long term. I believe he will get even better

4 games up on the Bruins.
1 game up on the Pathers and the leafs have a 2 point lead.

It's really there spot to lose.

Reilly is signed for the next several years, but his play hasn't been consistent this year.
IMO Z gas been their best Dman all year.
Gardner is just plain dumb, his passing decisions are horrible a lot of the times

That was such a bizarre game from Andersen.

Made some unbelievable saves, then seconds later he couldn't control a rebound or catch a fluttering puck.

He has had issues with his glove hand since we got him.. He stabs at the puck with his glove.. Not the end of the world, the kids are going to lose some, hopefully they learn from it.

I am sure that the management will upgrade the D and make some additional moves to take this team one more step next year.

I think the playoffs would be nice, but if they don't make it in, not the end of the world either.
