Did they get fancy and hold the ceremony in the lobby of a Whataburger?

So after posting a long umpunctuated post, who's commute is longer?

Albany, well Suny Albany is a huge party school I used to visit friends there and we'd go to Gilligan's and all of those bars. Not sure but you most likely went to those a few times
- Upstate_isles

That's where I went, wtf is Gilligans? Not sure how old you are but I suspect that place didn't exist when I was there.

I think their graduating class was about 13 people

I actually am friends with a husband-wife who met there. When I lived in Albany, it was tucked away on Western Ave. If you drove by and blinked, you missed it.

I don't remember Gilligan's either, and I was there decades ago...

It's in downtown Albany, it's like a 5 story bar with a bunch of other bars all around. There's one in Boston outside fenway as well. It was Jillians, and it just closed like a year or two ago.

Yep, it was like 2 buildings

Man is that city a dump.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures I ever took in my time there. It started pouring after Tulip Fest and things got rowdy on my street. Someone threw a charcoal grill up in the air and the wheel caught the powerline. It stayed there for quite awhile too. Sorry for the quality, the picture was taken on a circa-2007 flip phone.

Sounds like the one that turned in Jillians. It was 3 stories, downstairs was a normal, big bar, 2nd floor was like a sports-bar kinda thing with pool, darts, etc... and the 3rd floor was a club. A very dark club.

Come to think of it, maybe you're just not remembering the name right? Jillians/Gilligans is pretty similar.

Come to think about it more, you literally said that in your post

It was in downtown Albany there were a whole bunch of bars there. My family is originally from Schenectady so I'd go there when visiting my grandmother and the rest of relatives. Used to play pool on Western Ave right at intersection that went to colony one way and voorhesville the other.

No, not an English major or teacher. Just lazy. I like the insights in his posts, but it takes more effort to read them....

Looks like a typical, dreary, fall or spring day in Albany. That's one of the reasons why bars do such a good business there...

I think the bars do good because there are thousands of middle-class white kids spending their parents money recklessly.

That and the fact that there are lots of 9 - 5 State workers there who get paid regardless of whether they show up for work the next day hungover.

Some of the stuff I saw happen in that city was just mind-boggling.

Probably one of my favorites was when the cops showed up at one of our parties to break it up. I was outside talking to a female officer, profusely apologizing and ensuring her that the party was over. She was buying it....until a literal entire door came crashing through an upstairs window and landing about 30ft from she and I.
