He did have Babcock last year. Unless this is the first time in the while he has been healthy? Rangers are a much better team than last years Leafs and that helps.

Grabner's issues are being consistent bc we all know he's good on PK and has tremendous speed but goal scoring is the problem. Had 1 great year w/isles then nothing, same again this year w/Rags, lets see him do it again next year? If so, good for Grabner bc he's been extremely inconsistent in the goal scoring dept...

I would be vey careful about overpaying Grabner off of this year. He does have consistency and injury issues.

His speed is what makes him dangerous. That's what I always liked about him. Like I said, I know he had a problem hitting the net,but that seems to have gone away this year. Good for him.

So I've read almost all these pages, and have enjoyed them. Except for everyone complaining about getting to the home games. Do you not realize how lucky you are ? I live in Ottawa, and live about 50 km's (31 miles) from the arena. If I drive, I have at least a 45 minute wait in the parking lot to get out ( if I'm lucky ). Public transport is available, but it's a bus ride for 60 minutes to go 8 miles. Anyone female doging about going to, or from the game, should realize how lucky you are. In Montreal, there isn't even a parking lot. You guys are so lucky to have all this access to the Isles.

I certainly can't speak to the arena or the commute to and from since for me, going to a game would involve air travel, but I usual go to a couple coyotes games a year. If it's on a Saturday, it's a2 and a half hour drive. A weekday (only for the Isles) is 4 and a half hours due to traffic. I try to get a room at the hotel next to the arena. If I don't, I've got about 30 minutes to get out of the lot and a3 hour drive home. Now I'm curious if I've driven the farthest to see the Isles. Who's made a longer drive to see them? Flying to a location doesn't count. Also, don't count driving if seeing the Isles wasn't the primary reason for the drive.

We cannot forget that Grabs was facing a lingering leg/groin injury the later years of his tenure here.

But yes, Cappy (frank)ed him over as well.

People are b**ching about getting to the games because it used to be super convenient for most fans and now is more of a headache. The truth is, most fans didn't want the Isles to move out of Nassau or Suffolk County on Long Island, so no matter where else they went, fans were going to be upset by it. But to the Isles' (and Wang's) credit, they tried everything to get a new arena built in Nassau or NVMC renovated (to the standards of an NHL franchise) and the politicians shot it all down. Public dollars, private dollars, whatever. The politicians shot it all down and Brooklyn was the only viable option.

This arena situation is a disaster. The best thing for the team and its owners is to have their own building. But a fourth arena (fifth if you count the "renovated" NVMC) in the NY-NJ metro area is going to be a real tough sell. Its over-saturation to build another arena in the area. It will be tough to fill all the open dates with so many arenas vying for concerts, supercross, wrestling, college basketball, etc.

On a good day I can be at the g.w. in 215 but that's without traffic so let's say2.5 hours then it's a crapp shoot how backed up the cross Bronx is as its the most congested highway America some days it's a 10 minute drive to the throgs neck others it can be an hour then there's the l.ie. cross island and Hempstead turnpike to deal with. I'd say all things aside it's 215 miles and 3:32 on Google maps traffic not included. Haven't gone to Barclay's but I dated a girl in Brooklyn and that was 2.45 going through Staten island again traffic an issue. 188 miles 3:32 on maps.when we go we take all 4 kids so that makes the ride fun but worth it. My 4 year old sits in my leather recliner every game and says here dad I saved you a seat and watches the entire game with me as well as makes me play knee hockey to it so he won't miss a chance to go live

Edit if I go to prudential center I can drive there and take 280 and get off right at the arena it super fast and easy and I don't have to cross nyc. So 230 to 245 but it's the most dangerous location ever I mean go two blocks past it and it's a war zone. Also 192 miles to Buffalo but no traffic there and even though I'm literally 4 miles closers to NYC I'm on sabres market for blackouts I am dean center in the middle of nowhere

I went to school in Albany and the Sabres games always got priority on MSG over the Isles/Rangers. It was terrible.

Does your data plan charge you extra for punctuation? I enjoy your posts, Upstate, but they'd be more readily understandable, if you threw in commas, periods, etc. Heck, you don't even have to waste a full-fledged colon when a semi-colon would suffice....

honestly when he couldnt be consistent on scoring it was frustrating bc he busted on the scene with a great 1st year and couldnt really do much after. Snow signed him to that 5yr deal and most of it was robbery bc he stole every penny and didnt mount into much regardless of moron coach or not, main issue was not able to put the puck into net after plenty of opportunities....

Well here's the thing while I'm a fan of punctuation I'm also lazy and don't feel like switching the keyboard so I find it easier to write one long run on sentence like this one plus half the time I have one of my kids on me or calling so I'm trying to post and do other things I hope this clarifies my lack of punctuation! also, my phone hates this message area, if I type the word running it will automatically finish the word and while I don't notice that it will type a new word like game. it's also a fan of putting a full word in place of a letter, and example is if I type the word sucks but accidentally hit d at the end instead of s then delete the d and replace the s it will type a word at the end , an example would be suckspace. it's monotonous to fix it all the time on my phone and as I'm not at work screwing the pooch like a few of you , I am not on a keyboard!

- nyisles7

No I liked him then. I don't know about now because I don't watch many ranger games.

I said it before, I think Grabner had a role on that team, but ECHL coach we had couldn't figure out how to use him effectively. He helped the PK just by being on the ice.

Albany, well Suny Albany is a huge party school I used to visit friends there and we'd go to Gilligan's and all of those bars. Not sure but you most likely went to those a few times

No idea, I knew one kid from St. Rose and he was just a facilitator for some of my dirtbag friends to buy drugs from.

Funny story though, the kid that he got everything from went on to do some pretty great stuff.
