Really Matt Martin? He's doing exactly what he's paid to do which isn't much as far as pro NHL hockey players and Babcock and his teammates love him. 7 points plus 2.
I appreciate your list of guys who were at one level and then sucked but you forgot Andrew Ladd

- nyisles7

No i didn't. Hell be a 25 goal scorer this year.
Martin got paid for what he did with CC & CC. We all know he was never a goal scorer. Hell, he was never a good fighter. As you pointed out previously though, half the battle is showing up. If you've got the stones to drop the gloves when the ref states those 3 feared words, then you've at least gained a little respect. I can appreciate that he showed up when the bell rang, and he throws a lot of checks, but he did put himself out of position and behind the play chasing that one last hit. I don't dislike him, in fact i did kind of like watching him throw the body around, positioning aside. I do realize that hits make defensemen flinchy, so there is a bit of an upside to it.

I accept your rework on Martin.

Maybe minus 25

Hockeyman did a no no going after KO, Frans, or Martin. You know 7 the only thing that made Ladd suck was a bad back.
- ses111

So you're playing both sides of the fence, are you BOSS? I see how it is now. Then let's go for the hat trick. KO trips over the face off dot (skating not so good). Frans, while good defensively and in the face off circle, doesn't know where the opponents net is. Martin, well, good at throwing the body, horrible at fighting & scoring (surprisingly though, showed he had some wheels from time-to-time).

Boom. There it is. Come at me. REACTION!

I'm glad we can agree on something. 2 things, actually. This and shoveling snow sucks. I don't have to shovel sunshine.

Not really playing both sides of the fence as I was never a fan of KO and Frans. Poor 7 gets nothing out of it if I were. You have a good scouting report on these 3 hockeyman. Martin really should have taken fighting pointers from Michael Haley. I always liked him and would gladly take him back.

I think I liked Martin more than the other two. Ladd is better than all 3.

Full disclosure. Within this regimes time, Grabner was my favorite. I know he couldn't hit water falling out of a boat. But look at who coached him. Talk about misuse of talent. He never saw any PP time, and was never given a chance to showcase skills. He made defensemen very nervous while on the PK though.

I liked Grabner. He really kept the defense on their heels. His breakaways were exciting even though he didn't convert on most of them.

Carolina lost tonight and Detroit got a loser point. These teams are really helping the Isles out.

I also liked Grabner as well. I think he got a bad wrap about not being able to finish. They guy still created a ton of chances and was a threat. I think Cappy and Garth did a bad job with Grabner, but to be fair the injuries hurt as well.

Man I wish I had Dee's thread on here 4 - 5 years ago and saw the beating Grabner got on this thread for missing on his break always, not hitting bad defense etc.

Now he's loved

Easy now - I said I liked the guy. He kept the D honest especially on the PK. No one denies he had stone hands when playing on the Isles.

Blasphemous!
Honestly though, who knows what he would have been with proper coaching and development.

I honestly do not remember hammering Cappy and Garth that much over Grabner because the injuries hurt his cause. It was much worse with how Nino was handled.

He did have Babcock last year. Unless this is the first time in the while he has been healthy? Rangers are a much better team than last years Leafs and that helps.

So are you saying you hated him then and love him now?
