It is very central for me to the things I need/like to access. I would like to move back up island at some point but right now I end up needing to be in Victoria and the Mainland a lot for work so it is convenient.

I've never really grown on the actual city but would take anywhere on the island to Vancouver.

It has a lot of room to expand into and property is still relatively cheap, I'm certainly no expert on real estate but I would bet it will be a place that will get a lot of action with the markets in Van and Vic still so crazy.

Was born & raised there but 9 years ago I couldn't get out of there fast enough and haven't looked back. We prefer visiting Victoria now for a taste of 'the city'. Eastcoast central island is truly the gateway to the rest of the island. 2 + hours to Victoria. 3 hours to Uke/Tofino. 3 hours to Port McNeill/Port Hardy (ferries to Rupert, Alert Bay & Sointula). I love the island!!

Yes, the Island is great. I am not married so I need to be where the action is...I think it would be a nice place to retire though (Victoria). Also can't exactly do my job on the Island
