I'm here to help.

Much like you not liking 3v3, I don't like the majority of lineup decisions make by Hakstol over the better part of this season. We're free to complain about them or state our case, but it doesn't change a damn thing.

Oh come on, you LOVED seeing Manning & Weise in OT and what true Flyer fan wouldn't rather watch the incomparable Nick Schultz handling the puck instead of that flash in the pan Ghost.

Bah, speed and skill are for losers!!

I keep thinking about other reasons for the benching of Konecny and Ghost. Obviously they want to "teach" the kids a lesson. They want them learning and what not, but I also think they dont wanna scratch guys they could possibly be moving in the next month. Schultz is gonna get normal time until they move him. Same with some of the bottom 6 forwards..

At least thats what I like to believe. Otherwise

I mean, really...if you're seriously going to scratch Ghost for any prolonged stretch...I would actually rather he be traded. I know it sounds knee-jerkish, but if Hakstol thinks that sitting him our for 3 straight games (after being shutout in one of them) is the best idea for this team, then just get rid of him.

So the only option available was to give a 2-game benching to Ghost and Konecny over any of the other players on the team (Weise/CVV/Bellmare/Read/Lyubimov/Streit/AMac/etc.)? One game, I don't like it, but whatever. Three games is (frank)ing ridiculous.

No, a great white shark. Anything smaller is, at best, medium game.

I like to think im logical about the Flyers but if Ghost and TK are scratched beyond 3 games I think we need to invite Hak and Hexy to a Red Wedding type event.

The Flyers are already a slow team overall that lacks high end skill so lets make sure we sit two players that have both. I get trying to teach, I understand tough love. I also understand the Flyers have points in 5 out of 6 games and wins in 4 of those 6 games so obviously something is going right currently. I just dont understand what is being accomplished by holding them out past 3 games.

Wow, that's ridiculous. (edit: imho, of course)

Maybe there are other issues. Remember Mason's mystery personal issues? Maybe Ghost has something going on. Or maybe he's got some kind of injury. A third game does seem a little odd for a "learning" experience but wanting him traded right now is just silly.

Imho, of course.

Well, if the organization thinks that scratching your best offensive defenseman for 3 games as a "learning experience" is a good idea, I have zero faith that he'll be magically cured, and it could actually be detrimental. You think he had confidence issues before? Now he knows that a bad turnover or two could get him benched again. So if that's your method trying to cure him, then just move him for a "safe" player.

Most likely. I'll admit I am not being rational about this because my mind has been completely (frank)ed by our man who knows better than we all do. Smartest man in the room, for sure, and he'll make sure we all know it.

I don't remotely want to see the kid traded but I would sooner see him sent to the Phantoms to work on his game. call it conditioning if you want. Want him playing. Unfortunately they can't do that with Konecny. If he keeps sitting out I will start questioning keeping him when he could have played another junior season.

In a nutshell, I'm just done with Hak. I defended the hire, I defended him after the start last year, and I defended him after the fallout of the 10-game winning streak. But his seeming inability or unwillingness to play skilled players opposed to the "safe" players, and a system that seems to suffocate offensive skill so as not to ruffle the feathers defensively, is not something I can get on board with. I understand the patient approach and developing young players, but sitting guys like Ghost and Konecny for 3 games in favor of guys like Schultz et. al. is something I cannot believe in.

Looking forward to seeing Ghost next play in late March. Hopefully his 20 game scratching will magically make him play better.

hate to say it but if losing the game gets a lineup change then so be it. After the game Saturday I thought, great, they get a point and most likely the kids back in. not happy to see them continue to sit
