It was nice listening to the Longs talk about their son in the Super bowl.

I just turned it on now. I can't get away with watching endless hours of sports with the kids around.

Every year I say i'm going out to watch it, but something always happens and I end up at home. This needs to change.

Hopefully the party is at the Shark Club or something.

I took my 5 year old to a birthday party once. I was the only male there other than the bday kid's father. Told the wife never again will I do that alone.

That's a good point. Championships drive business revenue. But they could make the season champion important by rewarding something to the team other then a trophy. It's so meaningless as no one has time to celebrate cause the playoff marathon is about to begin.
- Nuck4U

A trophy is fine but the league has to push its importance or its just a tin cup. The prez trophy has zero weight even though it's a hard trophy to win considering how gruelling the season is.

Even though Carol didn't say it. Go Falcons. Stuff it Beantown and Trump.
Back to Hockey. Whatever bubble hopes are crushed. It's all good change is coming. Trades and draft will make its mark.

For those who get frustrated while we are going through this transition period, just be thankful we are.not the Red Wings. They have at least 7 multi-year contact taking up over 33 million in cap-( players over 30)space.
Detroit has an even lesser prospect pool than we have & less youth in roster.

This Ken Holland was called a master for years & now his LUCK has run out, all for some playoff streak.
Yet none of the genius commentors bring up the infamous Detroit model no longer being a success.

Carry on Jim, keep up the work change the look of this dreadfully boring to watch team.

Detroit's "model" was based on a previous system and luck, things are different now. Apples and oranges.

Oh yes I am aware of that. Pointing out how bad of a position they are in compared to us.
So just saying" at least we ain't the Wings" makes me feel better about the position we are currently in.

Detroit isn't in that bad of a situation, sure Zets contract sucks, But Nielsens is friendlier than Erikssons(not a huge deal really) and they can expose some bad contracts that would be enticing to LV such as Kronwall, Ericsson and Zeterberg. Howard is an anchor, but there is a possibility he becomes a LTIR player for the remainder of his contract.

I think Detroit's model still applies. When you take a look at guys like JV and McCann, they certainly could have used some time in the lower leagues marinating.

Yes but the red wings can rest on their laurels. They won a cup with a team that could be considered one of the best ever assembled. If the Canucks would have won a cup with their great 2010/11 teams, I wouldn't care What their record was today. But they didn't so I go on female doging.
