Gorges is shot, you need a guy making $5.1 to be more than serviceable, Justin Falk in serviceable

I know vegas doesn't want our junk but unless ive read this incorrectly (which is entirely possible) they have to meet the salary floor requirements by the end of the expansion draft.

They're not just going to pluck every teams young player and ahl guy, they'll take salary and nhl experience which is where you dangle ennis, bogo, gorges etc.

I believe we have to protect Okposo (I would anyway, even if we didn't have to)

Nobody will trade for an injured larsson so that might be tricky. And I would think based on what we've seen that if it comes down to it they'll protect carrier over ennis.

Probably right. I'm just trying to think of a scenario where we only expose dead weight. I wish the NHL was like MLB where you can trade cash. Moulson and $2 mil to some cash-strapped team.

I still think murray will do something creative to get out from under Moulson and to a lesser extent Bogo, though

Yeah there's two ways to read the Falk extension. Either Murray talked to George McPhee and Mcphee wants Falk (at a reasonable salary), so murray signed him to expose in exchange for an understanding that he'll be the player picked, or Murray signed him to fill the third D spot. Either way, it seems Murray is planning on 7-3-1 based on the Falk signing

they being vegas? If its to meet some sort of exposure requirement where you wind up protecting the 4 d guys to force them to pick gorges/bogo i would have to think that they plan on shipping out guys like foligno/girgensons?

i am not sure on that.. they could also sign Shat and Radulov to some ridiculous contract. maybe a 1 year 6 mil for vanek. they have options to hit the floor and not have slightly serviceable dmen. if you were their GM would you rather over pay for Shat or have gorges?
