This was never a good hire. It's bad look when a GM hires his son's ex coach. It's a bad look when that coach continues to play a very borderline line NHL every game, when that player once played under him dating to his past roots somewhere else.

We need NHL Coaching here. Not, I'm gonna play a guy because I know his father because they went to plumbing school school together in their teens. (frank) all that!

20 games over 500 and a well above 500 coaching %..
Have not seen enough of him yet to say he is horrible or good. LIke anything I like some of moves and hate others..

Do hockey players miss a day of pay when they don't play? No! They're well compensated. I'm sure Konecny and Gostisbehere would rather play but these two scratches aren't a punishment for them. It's a punishment towards the team. Hakstol is basically punishing himself by making such a bone headed move. The PP missed these kids. OT missed these kids.
