Go watch the Regina Pats if you get a chance this year and if you're into junior hockey, went and seen them last night in Saskatoon and theyre alot of fun to watch. Sam Steel just flys around the ice doing whatever he wants
- ClarksonDavid

I saw them play in Brandon once this year. Exciting team to watch. I like Nick Henry and JAKE LESCHYSHYN (sorry wasn't going to try and spell his last name) for draft eligible players.
Goaltending has been weak though. Need to score 5 a game to win.

Watching highlights of Cale Makar is intriguing stuff.
AJHL aside the kid is talented.
Be nice to wheel a deal for another 1st & nab him.

- Nighthawk

I can see our top.6 defenseman 2019-20.season being Juolevi, Stecher, Hutton, Makar, Subban and Liljegren.

If van drafts Liljegren really don't have any need for Stecher. Kind of the same type of player but Liljegren probably has a bit more upside.

Similar to BCHL. One in a while, someone is really good.

Lesser known than the BCJHL but talent is talent still.
Kids often go on to US college rather than the CHL option.
Makar is committed to UMass Amherst next season.

It wasn't me that was worrying.
I could see Boeser playing half a season in the AHL or being a call up next season.

- manvanfan

You really think Boeser is going to drop out of college so he can play in Utica? I would guess he'd just stay in school and finish his degree. If he's not cashing nhl paychecks then why give up on you're diploma?

If you are drafting Stecher with a first round top pick, then you need a new job

Agreed.

Add him and O.J and we have quite a few options, especially if we don't lose Sbisa to expansion.

Because a lot of first round picks college players play all 4 years in college?

Only his 2nd year & why stay 2 more years when can finish a diploma later if its even a priority to hm. He is a hockey player not a scholar lol.

Assuming he signs the contract, it's no longer his decision which league he plays in.
His team will likely make the playoffs, thus he won't get any NHL games this year.

If he signs over the summer and fails to make the big club out of camp, the AHL is exactly where he will go.

Needless to say, I was kidding. Subban will never learn defense, Tryamkin, as Vantel has suggested, is untouchable( for the time being), Edler won't waive goodbye, EG will be here for another 6 years, Sbisa will be in mtl for a 2nd.

Pretty much.

2 years in and he still has yet to 'declare' his major ahaha.
It seems pretty clear that getting a B.A is not his main objective.

Joulevi Tanev
Sbisa Tryamkin
Brisebois Stecher

Would probably be my preferred future pairings.
Trading Edler, Guds, Hutton.

Side note.

“And the reality is Shattenkirk is viewed at best as a second-pairing defenseman,” said Dreger. “Some teams that I talk to have him as a No. 5 guy. He’s terrific on the power play.

“But that’s a decision as an organization you have to make. Do you want to pay a 4-5 guy $7 million or more on a long term. Probably not.”

Dreger was on WGR 550 saying that he’s viewed as a power-play specialist. He’s a second pairing defenseman, who struggles on 5-on-5 at times.

“If you’re paying $7 million per, you need to get Victor Hedman or Drew Doughty or Brent Burns. That’s the type of player that you’re looking at when you’re looking at $7 million-plus.”

"Timothy Liljegren: The Swede is the undisputed top defenceman in this draft and, at this point, it's not even close.

Scouts say his offensive game is far more developed than his defensive game. He is an elite skater, both in terms of speed and agility, and adept at running a power play. He is seen as both a puck mover and an offensive point producer. No one is suggesting he's the next Erik Karlsson, not by any means, but scouts say he has some of the same qualities and, therefore, has the potential to be projected as a possible top pairing defenceman in time.
