If you move Draisaitl to center I would assume he would become the second line center. This would move Nuge to third line center and making 6 mill/year would almost mean a ticket out of town would it not, if possible? - Daceroni
Or you move Nuge to the RW to see if he can start producing more with the lessened responsibilities of a winger. I'd wager it'd afford you the chance to move Eberle for a more versatile forward. Sign a 3C and we'd see something like:
Maroon- McDavid- Versatile F
Slepyshev- Draisaitl- Nuge
Lucic- Veteran 3C- Puljujarvi
Khaira- Letestu- Kassian
This way, we wouldn't be leaving a big dent in our C depth, either. Unless you guys would be open to a Nuge for Couterier swap, that is |

Hopefully. Him and Ebs are too similar. If they're not scoring.... they bring nothing else to the table unfortunately. |

I'd love to see Nuge used a RW for a few games, especially if were paired with McDavid. |

We'd have to ask Bruin fans how Lucic was foot speed wise.
The Lucic then looked so damn good on the highlight reel is because its usually only 5 second clips. Now you watch him on TV or in the stands every game and you realize the dude is slow as poop and probably always was. Basically just a boat anchor. - nanook82

But can't scare opponents into mistakes. That's a lot of $ to just show up to the rink for 2.5 hours.
Playoffs you need an extra gear...... if we get there, lets hope he finds it |

D-Zone we're awful. Look for a lot of D-2-D passing, Forward group will all be in the neutral zone.... forcing the D to just slap the puck up or around the boards. Usually leads to a turnover and quality scoring chance against.
If that team shows up, should be an easy night for you guys.
If the team that played in Ana or SJ shows up..... look out |

Yeah i'd expect Draisaitl would be the 2C.
I think the team needs to move on from RNH. he's on pace for 40 points which is very low end 2nd line offense. He's in his 6th season and still can't take a faceoff. - rathagor
40s for points is average 2nd line production.
60s is average 1st line production.
This was a stat I learned a few years ago, and scoring has not gone up over the years so I take them as still relevant. |

Except we've also seen that Drai at Center has not worked either on other lines.
It's Todd that has mucked this up. Now he's going to have to pay Drai big time.
Why not keep Drai on RW with Nuge at C and let Drai take some faceoffs like he does now? Kind of like with Benn taking faceoffs instead of Seguin.
Maroon-McDavid-Ebs
Poo(or whomever)- Nuge-Drai
Might get more than one line that can score.

Made the mistake of reading Willis' article about leaving Ebs exposed on ON.
Jesus some fans are dumb. The comments on there are just pathetic. |

I'm not opposed to Draisaitl continue to play RW on a line with Nuge, but have we really confirmed that? He had a rough time with Lucic and Pitlick when they were a line, but he's also seen varying degrees of success with Maroon, Slepy, Kassian and Puljujarvi.
His time away from McDavid has largely been spent at C. In his 429:59 away from Connor, his line has produced at a rate of 2.37 GF/60 and allowed goals at a rate of 2.37 GA/60. That's an effective top-6 line. Is it ideal? No but considering the lack of consistent linemates during that time, I think it's fair to suggest that he can likely do better.
And I refuse to see Eberle with McDavid. |

He's not on pace for 40+ point he's on pace for all of 40. Which using the link MaximumBone provided puts him in the very low end of NHL 2Cs, like I said. |

I think Sammy will do well for you guys. Especially paired with Pulji. Tucson doesn't have much talent. They've won a lot of games by out working their opponents. Craig Cunningham is still the 7th or 8th leading scorer and hadn't played since early November. |

At the end of the day if we want more balanced scoring, Draisailt has to go to another line, as he is the only other player the Oilers have that can generate some offense.
I'm of the opinion the future of the team has McDavid as 1C and Draisailt at 2C, so why not have the lines that way. |
