If they are going after a pure rental, I want Wideman. But, Calgary has to creep a few more points down the standings. And not saying, I want him long term.

If the Rangers could finish early in the game.. we might have had this game 5-0 into the 3rd. Lehner still had a hell of a game as did Hank.

Raanta Sunday?

- disorca

Hank needs to play and play and play some more

hes had plenty of rest so far this year

I was at a game in 2003 or 04 up in the blues & one guy never stopped torturing Poti, not once for almost 3 hours. "Hit him with your purse Poti" was my favorite.

We are less than a month out to see what, if anything, the Rangers do on defense. Rental? Bigger hockey trade giving up a good young forward? Going to be interesting, although I would lean toward the rental route.

I really dont know what to expect

as of today, they project to have DEADLINE CAP SPACE : $10,108,436

I don't either. There are so many teams still involved in the playoff race, where the next month really matters to see who may be buyers and who may be sellers.

There are only two teams that really suck in the NHL, that are completely out of it. There are others whose playoff chances are highly improbable, but still not totally out of it.

if they are intending a major deal, now would be a good time.

4 straight home games, they actually only leave the NY area twice in the next 12 games before the deadline

the new fella could come here, get an apartment, get settled nice...

We got too many 3rd pair defensemen and too many 2nd line forwards...
- 21peter

I agree w/ that, but that "depth" makes all 4 lines dangerous in the offensive zone. NYR really doesn't have a true superstar. Nash was and is at times, but we are lacking the big name on offense.

Bruins are calling about Shattenkirk per LeBrun. If the cost is a 1st + Spooner + C. Miller and a new 6/$40M contract should Bruins do it?

just to let you guys know, this was a poll and it's an overwhelming yes so far from bruins fans

I bet that new contact he signs starts with a 7

I think whoever signs him will be happy for 2-3 years of the deal then will be cursing it

As far as bad last names go, Rotter is up there. Not as bad as Lipshytz, but still bad.

With most UFA contracts, the chances are high that the team is not going to be thrilled with the deal on the backend. That's the nature of unrestricted free agency, as you have to give those extra years to get the player. The upside, short term, is that you don't give up player personnel.

I like Rotter's site, but he is just a consolidator of information. He doesn't offer much independently, he just takes everyone else's info and puts into one neat place. Although I haven't been there in awhile.
