His neutral zone game was strong. Read between the lines |

So glad we won't see Ghost and Konency for at least another game. I pay money to watch exciting players like Nick Schultz, Chris VandeVelde, and Dale Weise |

Meat Read is a religious man, he said in his interview tonight. He knew the man upstairs would bless him eventually and reward his faith.
(He actually said this) - Mononoke
Maybe he was just talking about Ghost in the Cote suite? |

Thought last night the defenseman played Hakstols system a lot better. They were being aggressive in the neutral zone like he wants. They were trying to eliminate the speed of the Habs. They need to keep playing like that though. Can't go back to being passive defenseman.

Yep. In order to win we need to get as old and reliable as possible. Call up Gordon and maybe even scratch provy as he doesn't fit the new model. Instant cup. |

Call up TJ Brennan to take his place?

Need to have support from the forwards and a tight 5 man gap for defenseman to play that way.

Yeah.
That's why I am anxious for when the top d guys are all up. With the way they can move, and a lot of the recent draft picks being good 200 ft guys, if they can play the system well they can neutralize other teams speed and create turnovers. |

No way, he has far too much skill with the puck. We need guys who excel at chipping it out to the NZ. |

Last night was funny because I kept seeing Read and thought "what the (frank) has he done not to be sitting" and then he ripped that shot over the shoulder. |

If it happens once every 27 games, it was guaranteed to happen last game. It's good science. |

For how much we all rip on Weise, I thought he had a strong game. Actually noticed him. Showed some of that physicality we signed up for. Had some scoring opportunities too. One other thing that stuck out, and mono said it last thread, it was nice seeing our core guys out there in the closing minute! We usually don't get ENs either |

Painfully obvious that Konecny, Weise, Cousins, and Lyubimov all deserve to be playing regularly |

I agree.
If we scratch guys on merit I actually think Konecny should be back in for Raffl. I would have said Read but he scored. |

And Nick Schultz. Since we won a game when he was in the lineup, he's obviously a good player and key contributor to the team.
Sorry, but I'm finding it hard to take any joy from last night's win. |

I don't care that he scored, personally. I mean, I do care that he scored, but that shouldn't determine whether he plays or not. Yes, it was a nice shot and a nice play. But scoring on a ball that knuckles on the goalie is one play over the course of an entire game. |

I thought I was watching highlights of the 94/95 Devils last night, then realized it was the Flyers/Canadiens game. |
