Yeah, I still don't understand letting go of White, then overpaying for Weise. Not gonna make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things but it annoys the hell outta me.

Never forget that Jonathan Marchessault is paid 25% less than Ryan White and has 32 points in 44 games.

I'll just sum up both debates with this before I log off.

Konecny and Gostisbehere being scratched for a game isn't a real punishment. They're just gonna go back to the same roles and the same ice time saturday. A real punishment for Ghost for example is replacing him with Streit on the PP while he watches from the bench. You know who has been really been punished this season and rightfully so? Dale Weise. Expected periods of time as a healthy scratch, while Cousins plays (who isn't really that good of a player). Weise has had hos Power Play taken away for long stretches, again for Cousins at times. That's punishment.

As for White vs. Weise and Gordon, White produces on the fourth line of a bad team in less games than Weise and for cheaper. If you wanna defend your management/team to the death, god bless. The numbers are there.

Dumb penalties. Scratches. Benches. Waived. Vacations without pay. Gambling addiction. Late to show up to games until the middle of the second. What's your point? He's still more productive on a worse team who is not going to make the playoffs.

You didn't even consider injury but either way, Ryan White on one skate would probably do better than the Gordon and Weise.

So you're calling out Hextall for 2 bad signings so far...fair. What does Ryan White have to do with that? Would his 50+ more PIMs, extra goal and assist be making a big difference to the Flyer's season at this point?

Whether you're ignoring or just not seeing improved play from Weise I don't know but he's been contributing plenty that hasn't shown up on the score sheet lately. Gordon looks like a failed experiment but Hextall's intentions to pursue that experiment were valid. Ryan White wasn't going to give him what he signed Boyd Gordon or Dale Weise for. He's boarder line NHL player on the worst team in hockey. Time to move on.

the story goes the Flyers wanted White back but white was playing hardball. not sure in terms of salary or years or both. The Flyers grew weary and decided to move on. white had no other offers except for Arizona for less than what he wanted from the Flyers. He priced himself of of an offer here and into Arizona

Were you under the impression that NHL execs and GM's are infallible? In making that statement, you didn't get the point.

Dale Weise has sucked in the o-zone, but at least he's been good in the other 2 zones to make him at least partially useful. And it's not like he's not a guy with a 30 point track record. That he rebounds isn't outlandish. I wasn't thrilled with the signing on July 1st even though.

But Ryan White just is not good. Plain and simple, he's just barely an NHL player and there's no upside. His PKing was horrendous too fwiw. And I have it on good authority that he smelled.
