I think Marchenko will be claimed by a team ahead of us in the waiver priority, anyway. There are 16 of them.

Colorado has been claiming players a good amount lately. And they wanted d for any trade involving Landy or Duch. Can see them grabbing him. |

No I don't?
Do I know he isn't?
But I could evaluate them and then make a determination. I don't need Schultz sitting here as a 8th dman who barely plays. - J35Bacher

Aside from the win, the best thing for me was Hak breaking up the Manning-Ghost pairing which was leaking goals at an alarming rate. Manning pinches way too much to be a good partner for Ghost. Schultz got his one game in for the month, so Hak will hopefully go with this tomorrow.
Provorov-MacDonald
Manning-Gudas
Ghost-Streit - Feanor
Streit has been an absolute mess this season with poor pinches himself, poor coverage, and in general being a sieve, even if the offense is there. I'm not sure how that will help Ghost either, even if they could try it. It's not like Ghost isn't being used as a 3rd pair guy now anyway. But Streit definitely has not been as calming and reliable as you're making him out to be IMHO. I'd like to see MDZ get healthy and draw back in. |

Did something Lavy didn't like? Or asked to be waived over recent scratches? - dragonoffrost
I saw that he's been scratched lately but I'm wondering why he's being scratched when he's produced a good amount for a veteran depth guy. If I read correctly, he asked for a trade due to being scratched and then got waived. |

NHL teams have pro scouting departments. They just don't bring players in to make a determination. If he is better than what we have and can help us, then by all means make a claim if he falls to us. If he is not better than why bother? That's what it should be based on. Not from a fan perspective of give it a whirl. |

If Chicago offered Toews for Coots, would you do it? Serious question - YuenglingJagr
If Chicago would have to keep a lot of Cap for that to be worth it. I'd rather sit on Coots and hope he lives up to the hype. We kind of need him to as well. Giroux is not getting any younger and I am not sure we will be a contender when he is at the top of his game. I think Giroux suffers from the same issue as I do. I can shoot and I usually will score if I do but I always feel obligated to pass, that if I shoot I am being selfish. |

Streit needed to go last year. Flyers should have sold him back when his value was high 2 years ago when he was top 10 among Dmen in scoring. Now we are sitting here waiting for him to leave instead. |

I would probably go like this once Del Zotto back:
Provorov - Manning
Streit - Gudas
Del Zotto - Gostisbehere
I mean really with the defenders we have there is no exact lineup that can please everyone |

Scoring doesnt shut up the haters. Getting more than 50 points will shut up the haters. If you are the 2nd line Center 50-60 points is expected. This guys highest is 39..... - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Couturier is one "of" the most positive "+/-" players on the team in recent years. You probably didn't take that into your evaluation. +/- can also determine if you are a 2C, not just points.
I PMed you a few links explaining the nuances of +/- but you still don't seem to have "read" them. |

His age and his contract would've severely limited his market and the return back then. |

I think Sreit will end up in Edmonton. They could use him on the PP

Wouldn't hurt that much if we kept some cap but that is hard to say because we traded Vinny and Schenn last year so a Streit deal maybe affects that unless trading Streit the year before meant keeping Schenn |

They kept cap with Grossmann, Schenn and Vinny. So might not have been able to do that or if they did might not have been able to do the Vinny/Schenn deal |

I think Streit or Del Zotto could work there. Wouldn't cost a ton and both UFA after the season.
A lot will depend on what happens to Shattenkirk as he will be the main guy. Striet and Del Zotto could be fall back types for teams who didn't get Shattenkirk. |

And the Pens will look like mustard bottles
I like the pads Mason got. The angled stitching looks like it will make a cool design when he has them side by side. |
