haha i know. what an absolute joke. - stayinthefnnet
The league is so in love with Toews it's ridiculous.
Malkin is the better player over their careers, but gets snubbed for the top 100 in favor of Johnny Intangibles.
Anisimov and Panarin are better players for Chicago this season, and they get snubbed for the ASG. |

Different scenario.
The discussion was about ice time as a punishment. Taking away PP time compared to scratching. - dragonoffrost
No it isn't. It's the same. |

How don't they have room? Thye only have 46 contracts. Can make space waving someone like Schultz.
I wouldn't mind taking a chance on a 6'3'' right handed shot. - J35Bacher
I just meant theyd have to waive someone. You're right, they could waive Schultz I just dont think they would or should for someone like Marchenko |

yeah man. I'm not going to say he's a bad player by any means. that would be equally ridiculous. He is a very good two way forward, and does have a knack for coming up big. but my god.
the love affair is insane. and i get it the league as a whole did everything and then some to shove crosby down peoples throats so i can see if that bred some resentment as well and thats fair.
there are so many things that need to be taken into consideration when evaluating chicagos run. |

I mean it's not a make or break thing.
But I would be willing to bring him in. He plays out the rest of the year. Big right hand shot dman. If he plays well then you could replace manning with him. |

They should waive Schultz because he sucks, don't need any other reason |

The entire list was arbitrary as hell. Also, it was not the "100 Best Players" it was the "100 Best Players Who Played the Majority of Their Career in the NHL." The fact that Ryan Wilson got super upset by it was hilarious. |

its not worth getting super upset over because you should basically be able to take it with the mountain of salt required with anything the league puts out.
but the fact that hes not on it is a joke either way. |

Scratching a player and actually taking a player's ice time are two different things. If Hakstol scratches Giroux during the last game of the season because we're as good as in the playoffs, is this a punishment? Is he taking G's ice time away? - SuperSchennBros
Scratching a player is definitely taking away his ice time. |

I heard they also wanted to spread out the players through eras and where they were from. Total trash list. |

This is the one thing I wish the Flyers did a little of. SOme of these teams do a little tinkering with waiver pick ups that are low risk but could be a good depth guy to get in and then see how he performs.
I mean would it be all that bad to bring in Marchenko and move Manning to a 7th guy and waive Schultz? - J35Bacher
Do you know for a fact that Marchenko is better than Manning? |

Sure is a different scenario...
Scenario #1 TK and Ghost are scratched and told they are being sat as punishment for bad play.
Scenario #2 G is being scratched and given the game off to rest and is told such.
If that isn't clear that one is punishment and the other isn't to you I can't help you. |

If those bozos actually ranked the top 100 Toews would probably be above Crosby cause of the extra Cup. |

Marchenko and Ribeiro on waivers - YuenglingJagr
Has Ribeiro been playing poor? Has 25 points in 46 games, I don't see that being bad for a veteran depth player |

I think they should not waive Schultz because he played last night against a good team, and although limited, he does not suck. They should try and trade him for whatever value they can get to a team that might want a veteran depth defenseman. |

No I don't?
Do I know he isn't?
But I could evaluate them and then make a determination. I don't need Schultz sitting here as a 7th dman who barely plays.

No point in waiving him until after the trade deadline. At the very least, Hexy will try to get someone to pick up half of his remaining salary, regardless of the return. |
