Beginning of the end boys. - walshyleafsfan
Yeah, I suspect it is.
Watching Matthews go on another useless streak especially hurts when Laine piles up the points.
It isn't a question of whether it was the right pick, or whether or not Matthews has looked outstanding at times.
I would like one (frank)ing season where there wasn't some obvious target for the trolls.

He has not been a 1st pairing player this year.
Barely, 2nd pairing.

They've been playing on fumes for a while now. It was bound to happen with all the kids in. It'll be a long 10 weeks from now till the end of the season. However, it's been a huge improvement from years gone passed - walshyleafsfan
Yes, something new for us - a great half year - then we are in the running for a top lottery pick...oh wait. |

We'll be alright. We've managed to add about 6 guys to the lineup that you can win with. That puts us up to 8. |

I don't know how you bring mental toughness to an organization. They don't raise their game, like most other teams seem to be able to do.

I suspect Matthews will have the last laugh. Laine should be beating Matthews fairly comfortably in points truth be told. He's currently in a much simpler position and with better linemates |

Time for bed.
Not going to waste my time watching a team that's not giving a poop until it's 5-1.
Id healthy scratch some players if I were them. They need to be sent a message right now. |

Time for us to set up a perimeter and draw some battle lines - call up the reserves boyz.
We'll need a couple volunteers to take the first watch.
Troll's should be on the move shortly. |

Honestly,I wouldn't put this down as a collapse. It was a shock they were doing so well. Babcock tried to temper expectations, as did Lou. This season wasn't about standings as much as blooding some kids. I expect year year will be similar with some more kids playing in the NHL for the first time. It'll be another few years before standings really matter imo |

The difference in quality of play is a collapse... I get your point and I agree but they're playing much worse... |

I'd say Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Andersen, Zaitsev and Hyman are all guys that you can win with provided they're put in the right situations. As if now Zaitsev and Hyman are playing too high as needs must |

This is just poop right now, could be the young guys hitting a wall. But the vets are invisible also. Kadri? Bozak? JVR? Uncle Leo? Where are you? |

For sure. I think a lot of them are pretty (frank)ed. Zaitsev must be thinking this is torture. Problem is then when we rely on the "vets" we have no chance.
Once the kids become the "vets" we'll be laughing |

Confidence means so much with a young team. |
