The Point of the quote is the flames are looking for a top 4 D-men which would indicate that we are prepared to protect four from the expansion. That means that 1 of our original forwards that we would have protected would be involved in the trade.

In my opinion that leaves Frolik, Brouwer or Bennett as the odd men out.

I'll come right out and say it, he blows! Try to get something for him ASAP. Outside of the playoffs and his 4 goal game I have not been impressed or blown away. And if you have you're lying to yourself. Not saying he won't be good, but he certainly hasn't lit this world on fire in the last 2 years.

We have some nice D prospects coming up the pipeline, and the flames aren't going to win the cup this year. So why the (frank) would they target a big name RHD?? Stay the course, let the team develop, and maybe see what you can bring in next year via free agency if there's still a need. Not to mention having 4 dmen to keep in the expansion draft exposes the rest of the team.

Most importantly the Flames lack forwards prospects. Trading Bennett because Wideman is poop IS THE WORST (frank)ING IDEA

I have to agree with Yeah...Baby, I think Bennett hasnt even come close to living up to the "potential" that everyone seems to love to talk about. He's had few flashes of stardom, but it's terribly inconsistent. How long do you give a guy a chance to produce? Potential doesnt put points on the board. Everyone seems to think hes going to be a top line center for us, but the way he's going right now its looking grim. Guys of his age should be progressing and getting better, not being a healthy scratch because of terrible stats. Get somebody good while hes worth something.
