I saw it. They are still winning more games with him on the third line. I don't just factor in a 7 game stretch. It's about last season when they played together has as well. As I said, I never said he absolutely couldn't play with Eichel. I'm saying that both guys play better when they aren't together. And you can say that with just about every "top 6" forward on this roster. The stats say it. The record says it (again including last year), and even the vaunted "eye test" says it.

You're not wrong in that there is a hole in this top 6. However, moving Kane up there, especially with the way he's playing now is robbing Peter to feed Paul, and using the money to buy peanuts while Paul has a peanut allergy.

I like the way Kane is playing on the third line and I love the way that line is producing with him on it. But it seems we're forgetting how well 9-15-23 played together for the last 5 weeks of the season last year.

I don't know which of the combinations works better, and I'm not inclined to do the research, but I reject the idea that Kane can't play with Eichel. He's demonstrated that he can.

This season he has 7 with Gionta so far (6 with Reinhart, 5 with Eichel) out of his 16 5-on-5 points.

It looks like Kane has been with Gionta for about 16 games this season, Eichel 8 games and Reinhart 18 games.

Last season Kane spent about 26 games with Eichel, 32 with Reinhart (15 with both of them), and 8 with Gionta.

Why did Kane get a year and a half to recover from his injury, get acclimated to new teammates, all the clichés, but Ennis is just not good enough?

Ennis has missed 90 games since last season started.

Ennis has 3 points since his injury (only 18 games in though, since his injury ran from 12/30/15 until he just recently came back).
