It's ironic. Everyone loves to pile on Bylsma for not using players in a role they are best suited for (and some of that criticism is warranted), but are eager to move Kane out of the role he's produced the best by quite a large margin.

Why did Kane get a year and a half to recover from his injury, get acclimated to new teammates, all the clichés, but Ennis is just not good enough?

It worked really well when this team was already out of the running for the playoffs. It's the equivalent of a quarterback throwing for 100 yards and two touchdowns in the 4th quarter when down by 24. It happens all the time.

Please re-read my post. I didn't say I want him moved off the third line. I said I reject the idea that he can't play with Eichel. That's not the same as saying I want him to do so now.

This brings up a good point.

We should NOT be measuring whether Kane is better on the 3rd than his is on the 2d or 1st. We should be measuring whether the team is better with Kane on the 3rd than the team is with him on the 2d or 1st.

I don't care about Corsi (neither do the standings), I care about wins.

And I make that observation without knowing what the data will say.

How much worse will their team actually be when it comes to points in the standings they'll get?
I'd say it probably won't make much difference

A team or 2 might fall off
But I think most will stay at roughly the same level they're at now
